Now you have me thinking how reliable is the system? Meaning has it ever got someone stuck with a no start no run while on the road? I would assume if there is a simple way to either disarm or bypass it easily then it is not very secure..:eyerole

Thanks for the quick replay.. It looked a bit home made..LOL.. But if it belongs there then will let it be.. If found it when trying to figure out why the door gap did not line up perfectly.. It has the wrong battery that is about 1/4 inch too wide and prevent pushing the panel in the correct...
I know they were fuses that was obvious the large relay or solenoid at the bottom with the mass of all orange wires that disappear. In looking at the FSM and spotting two wires that go through from under the dash I am thinking it is used to power the speakers connected to the radio that does not...
While working on another thing the previous owner 'fixed' I stumbled across this and i have no clue what it does and rather certain it is not a GM piece. Could it be an alarm of some sort or car starter? There was an unidentified key fob in the consile that I paid no attention to to be honest...
Ordered a set today and had them drop shipped to race car shop to install and do the alignment as well and take out the tire pressure sensors.. I was planning on running around 22 lbs in each of the old tires one at a time around town and seeing if ai get a low pressure warning as I know the...
Where would you set it for performance driving and HS Stability? I will bring it to a race car shop to have tires mounted and alignment done so if outside factory specs no problem...:D I am in the race car biz so access to them no problem and they can easily do 4 whell alignment thrust angles...
One more thing comes to mind the door sticker missing off my car.. It has 275/40/17 on all 4 corners is the the standard setup from the factory for a 91 coupe?? Currently I am running 30 psi in them with no guidline other than it rides well and the sidewalls look right.. On another note when I...
I don't want to race on them and though all season a good choice for my location in the northeast. I I had to wait for a 60 degree day with no rain I might het to go for a ride a handfull of days.. I do not have any toys that I don't get to play with if you know what i mean. I want to maximize...
Ed does this same procedure work on a 1991 if so I know what Sunday afternoons project is..LOL... Ihave at least 1 bad sensor no doubt when previous owner of only a couple of weeks ago had crap tires mounted so he could sell it with good tires..What is a Remington tire?? yikes... LOL well they...
You might check the egr valve and make sure it is not leaking.. or you don't have drippy injectors at idle one or two bad ones will really throw things off as the ecm is using an average and does not know if one cylinder is rich and another lean.. It will just change things so the one oxygen...
I have a scan tool and it has all sensible data IE. engine temp 186 oil temp 197..etc buth the cluster has odd readings is my problem.. I don't see how the ECM has a problem or the sensors or the wiring to the ECM if the scan tool reads right. The oil pressure sensor might be bad as it is only...
I found several questions with similar problems though no solutions.. While waiting for the FSM to arrive I was wonder if anyone knows the data flow from the PCM to the dash. The dash reads wildly wrong and the scan tool has reasonable readings. I can not believe they would sell a new car for...
I think if you follow the oiling diagram it migh show that the oil enters the rear of the block and if number 8 is leaking badly nothing else gets any oil. Even worse the oil pressure is measured there as well and before all the other leaks in the engine. I don't know if all engines have a...
Today was an enlightening day for me.. Oil pressure seems a bit high water temp cool like a 160 stat.. oil temp ice cold so was getting ready to buy some sensors... and wrench next weeked.. My scantool came in this morning on ups.. Oil temp was 196 water 186 did not see oil pressure on the scan...
I am new to owning a Corvette but no youngblood at 56..LOL.. I always wanted one so thought I better do it soon if I am to enjoy for a long time. It might be a sacralidge but anything that stops my Vette from running will get updated with something even if I have to design and make it myself. I...
