    Best Security EVER!

First, disconnect your home alarm system and de-register from the Neighborhood Watch. Second, get two Pakistani flags raised in the front yard, one at each corner, and the black flag of ISIS in the center. Now the local police, sheriff, FBI, CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, Secret Service...

Help! Trying to identify modifications done to my Corvette

WELCOME TO THE CAC!:thumb Wow- sounds like it's a lot of fun!! :lou Can you link some pictures or show us what the ECM and the engine look like? If you drive the car at about 70mph and have it in 4th gear, your rpms should be around 3,700rpm. 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio and that should tell...

    Question: Old vs. New

Congrats on the Vette!! A car in great shape always sells for more. Here's my take... Original + low mileage + incredible condition will always have the highest resale. Examples would include '78 Pace Cars with less than 20k miles. Those cars always sell in the $20s it seems. Desirable...

    Question: EZ Flex Bumper

I can't remember the name of the 3M product... Fusor I think... but that can be used to fix cracks or tears in urethane if there is still enough elasticity and the repair wouldn't require using a ridiculous amount of product to do it. I had used an ACI bumper years ago. The tolerances were so...

    Question: Black St. Louis 1981

    Question: Black St. Louis 1981

Depends on how much buffing you need. If the paint is dull- but not oxidized... I'd consider using a clay bar first and then buffing. 3M 3000 Grit Extra Cut has worked extremely well for me when it comes to buffing things out. I start with a clay bar, move to 3000 grit buff, followed by...

You will need to repin the harness there for that style connector. I forgot to mention that. If you want the terminal kit and not a splice-in-pigtail... EFI Connection sells them. https://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/ConnectorDetails.aspx?ItemId=223

You are looking for a Throttle Position Sensor to go there. :thumb That sensor has three wires going in it, two screw positions (one top and one bottom), and then a tang that moves with the one in the picture. The orientation of the screws would be for a TPI era sensor. Like for a 1989 TPI.

No battle plan survives contact with the enemy.

Another route to go... there is a guy on the internet that who sells custom EFI harnesses and does a lot of really neat stuff. Like an AWD LT4 S10 :thumb EFI Connection - S10 "Wildside" Project I have purchased harnesses for EFI swaps from him- he's a really nice guy. I would bet he could send...

Can't help you with the 1/4 mile times. I would guess... and that is a WAG at best... if you can get traction... your 0-60 could be between 3.9 (akin to the 2003 Z06) and 5.2 (worst case scenario using the LT4 Grand Sport numbers). Lots of variables here. ;squint: Variable that include...

Help! Rockers and Push Rod Question

Wow... that's a good question. Lots of variables here. Some folks have seen between 20-40hp on Vortec heads alone. But that's an internet estimate from people that heard from someone who did XYZ ten years ago... :chuckle I am pretty sure you'll need a cam to get close to your 330-400hp...

Help! Rockers and Push Rod Question

If you have the LM-1 350... you would have about 170hp @ 3800rpm and 270lbs-ft of torque at @ 2400. Which would make sense with that cam, if you have the stock .390/.410 spec cam I've read about. FYI- I sourced the specs for that engine here... 1978 Camaro data - Statistics, facts, decoding...

Help! Rockers and Push Rod Question

If it were me... I would swap out the cam and go with a set of iron Vortec heads and a Vortec intake. Aluminum is good, but I think Vortecs are better when I'm not sure who made those heads. If money is a concern- I'd just go with Vortec heads and an intake. Jegs has them for $619 for two...

    My Modified '82

ThirdGen.Org and GearHeads are two forums where there are a lot of people who do significant tuning. I am still very, very much a novice at this. But I do want to share what I've done as well as things I have learned along the way. What I will say is that EBL is great for many reasons, but the...

The painted rails look really nice!! :thumb Many moons ago... I had contemplated machining an LT1 intake to fit GEN I heads. Yeah, I would have needed a small distributor and a remote thermostat housing, but for $100 a la salvage yard, it was a lot more reasonable than a TPIS Mini-Ram...

I think you'll dump more fuel across the OEM fuel map with larger injectors... will it line up in terms of what you need at a given KPA & RPM relative to what your cam and heads need where it is different from the LT1 profile? Maybe... and maybe not. An LT1 runs between 41-47psi of pressure...
