    My Modified '82

I wanted to create a sleeper... So it was very important to keep the car looking as close to factory as possible. I have tried to retain as much of the OE pieces and parts under the hood as I could. The most obvious change is the removal of the fresh air door to assist with breathing...

    Hose Identification Please!

That's exactly what Air1jpg had to do- he had to go with rubber lines after he couldn't find the hard line.

    Car getting some new color!!

:thumb Wow that looks sharp!!! What is that color blue called?

    How Important to Keep Original?

That is a tough question. Like Tuna said... it is up to you. The car is only original once- but if you don't enjoy it for what it is you won't be happy. That said, I have never had a completely original Vette stay that way. Some have had side exhaust, body mods (hoods, bumpers, etc)...

    Hose Identification Please!

Maybe some 6 months ago, Air1 (another CAC member) had something similar happen with his hoses. Yeah- leaking massive coolant is a killjoy for sure.

    My Modified '82

Attached is a datalog of the pre/post... this is the closest thing to a dyno of results. For reference, the "post" results are superimposed upon the "pre" results. The .465 cam accelerates a lot faster than the .425 cam- and with the 400 or so rpm increase on WOT, the dividends are huge at...

    40th Anniversary mustang sound!

You could get Loud Mouth exhaust resonators. They are SLP products and sound pretty mean on the LT1 engines in the F-bodies. SLP Performance Loudmouth Bullet Resonators - loud-mouth - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

Tuning is now done! :thumb Below is a summary of the outcome using post/pre data log comparisons and OEM performance numbers obtained from the CAC. A Few Notes on Pre/post: All data logging was measured and recorded pre/post with Dynamic EFI's "What's Up Display" software. Multiple data...

started out as a wide body conversion ended up total redo

Have you thought about tuning it yourself? I have learned a lot over the last 10 months- from lots of folks from all over the net to get my 82 where I want it. I could never get out of it what I have with just a mail order tune. Being brutally honest... I'm not the poster child for tuning...

started out as a wide body conversion ended up total redo

Did you find a tuner??? I have some suggestions. LT1 PCM Tuning - Welcome! Solomon has a good reputation over at ThirdGen.Org. I would use him if it were me. I've spoken with him before- he's a really sharp guy. He can send you an image or you can send him your PCM. :thumb Home | PCM for...

    Carpet Installation Question - 1982

Me too- I did one in January/February as well many moons ago. :chuckle If you have a spare bedroom- unroll it from the box and let it sit out for a week or two. Meanwhile, you can glue the carpet to the fiber boards on the transmission console and then glue the carpet to the seat back. Best...

    Carpet Installation Question - 1982

I haven't needed to glue carpet down when I've changed it out. I think the key is getting it down into the car and getting it to lay nicely before you start cutting it. :thumb There are lots of factors involved- the biggest variable is what type of backing if any is involved and how well it...

Code 21: TPS test procedure help. Paging Gerry!

In my experience... temperature changes do weird things to electrical components that are on their way out. I had a TPS earlier last year that operated fine when cold but once the engine was up to temperature, it started to misbehave and send weird values. Parts and connections will malfunction...

    Question: 82 vette HP upgrade

BTW... gears would also be a good add for a stockish '82 if you wanted to leave the engine as-is. Mid America offers rear ends with either 3.73s or 3.55s for the 80-82 Vettes. They run about $1k, but it's far less than going into the motor.

    Question: 82 vette HP upgrade

Agreed- LSx is the easiest way to go if someone wants 375hp or more. Dlaurino- WELCOME TO THE CAC!! :thumb There are other SBC crate motors. The ZZ4 has been discontinued- and that was 355hp. Now there is a ZZ5- and it is around $6k and has about 45 more ponies. It's also turn key- but a...

    My Modified '82

Jimbil208- if you tune it... and you have a stock motor... yes, it will run better I believe. However, I found having a wideband O2 sensor to be critical since there isn't a crossfire BIN that is readily available. Honestly, without it, I was struggling to get the tune down. It helps out a lot...
