Wipers power OFF while driving in rain.....

It could be a tired wiper motor.

    Pre-Mixed Antifreeze

Yes I do this, but I forgot to label the mixed, and I can't tell by looking, so I'll just have to feed it to the cat and start over.

    News: r12 freon repairs

Is there any chance of buying and using r12 could land you in trouble from our oppressive govt. like the EPA?

question about some bubbles on transmission dipstick

I drove "normal" and no bubbles. Without starting a new thread, I am assuming I can use dexron VI (synthetic) in a 350. Would this be O K to use?

question about some bubbles on transmission dipstick

Yes, I was being a little hard on it. Sometimes I just can't help myself. I'll check after normal driving tonight and see if I get bubbles.

question about some bubbles on transmission dipstick

My transmission (th350) has good fluid color, and isn't over filled, but when I checked the fluid there were a small amount of bubbles on the stick. It shifts well, and no slipping. Just could use some input about the bubble thing. I was driving a little hard before I checked.

With These C3's It NEVER Stops

You could have a cracked head. This happened to a truck I owned with a 350. I did notice that the temp gauge was fluctuating more than usual. Go to your exhaust and sniff, but don't over do it, or you might get brain damage.:)

The Importance Of Grounding Heater Cores And Radiators

Is it possible that under the hood rubber breakdown is caused by ozone??

The Importance Of Grounding Heater Cores And Radiators

toobroke, I've never ever heard of this before. I thought radiators, and heater cores fail 1. when they get old, or 2. coolant hasn't been changed as it is supposed to be. Can you tell me how you came about this info? I had a radiator fail when I went through a hail storm (an old truck). The...

    Moving to 3.73 gears

I agree, with a 700 you will enjoy the 3.73's. The only reason I am stuck with 3.55 gears is because I have a 350, and in 1.1 I rev about 3000 at 70, and that's enough revs for me. Just watch the blue suits, and ghost cars. Been there, done that.

    rebuilt differential break in

I drove a stock L48 with 4.11's and it reved at 4000 at 70 mph. Yikes, I felt like a push rod was gonna come through the hood. In my opinion stock engines don't rev high enough to take advantage of that tall of gear. What I have is good for all around crusing in my area. I quit street racing...

    rebuilt differential break in

Following up on this thread, my mechanic discovered it was a bearing, and not the ring and pinion. Everything else looks like it's in very good condition. He told me the gears were replaced, but were not shimmed properly causing the bearings to go bad. They are 3.23's, and I'm leaven um like...

I Installed Ram Air In My '71 Big Block

The car in motion may get much better (cooler) closer to ambient air temps than when it's on a dyno. This could be the variable that gets little attention. There has been so much contradiction and argument about hp improvement, or decline due to air temps under the hood w/open element. Just...

open element vs stock air cleaner

I was considering going with an open air cleaner on my 77. The factory one has one snorkel, and it seems too restrictive. Any suggestions?

Annoying Battery Drain In A '82

Ignition switch? Interesting you mentioned this. I am not able to turn the key to accessory, so it needs some adjusting. Hmmmm

Annoying Battery Drain In A '82

I didn't know you asked this till now. I do not have a power antenna, but I still have a 3/4 amp drain. I have resigned myself to it for now, but I have a bug about it, and I am gonna try to find the culprit. I have checked everything I know, but the knife switch on the battery is handy. The...
