    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

With one exception I have not experienced any electrical failures since I bought the 1967 in 2003. In fact not even a lightbulb has blown. I certainly agree that replacing all wiring harnesses is a prudent way to go but realistically I cannot justify the time and expense of doing so. Typically...

    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

Rich, That's exactly the situation. Now if we could find out who supplies them...But then it would be: How many thousands do you want?

    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

Here is the reply: Thank you for your inquiry. We sell complete harnesses. The connector you refer to is part of the dash harness, part 01200. This is in stock for $403.00. Craig, If you can wangle one out of them, that would be very much appreciated.

    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

No response from them today. And I will not 'phone to LA. More $s than part is worth. Not sure what you mean about unthinkable. The risk is mine. Tie-wraps may be my option. I basically just give up on these suppliers. They know where to get these old parts and and have them in hundreds but...

    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

Craig, Thanks for the tip. I searched their database but can't find that part. And they seem to have the same "We don't sell individual connectors" policy as the other companies do. But I have sent them an e-mail. We shall see.

Your chance to own a nice '67

Jim, Do you know how much new kitchens cost?

Your chance to own a nice '67

With an Edelbrock, I may lower my price. But the original Holley is in the basement. Seriously though, that price is just crazy. I am going to be afraid to drive my car this spring at 33% of that price, or whatever people think it's worth. Time for a new apparaisal!

That price is just crazy. I'm selling in the spring and buying a used C6.

Thanks Rich. But I have two switches and only need the connector.

    1967 Ignition Switch Nylon Connector

The locking tabs are broken off mine and JB Weld is holding the fort at the moment. I wish to replace that connector but it seems that I have to purchase a $400 dash wiring harness to get it!! I don't prefer that option. (And places such as Lectric Limited will not sell components.) Does anyone...

Me No Sweat No More.. Bought Me A New A/C System ..This is the Best one I Have Seen.

My thanks for those informative replies and pics. They were very much appreciated. It is so difficult to get a handle on things from vendors' hype and pics on a web site. My estimate on costs is >$3,000CDN. And that does not include any labour. I will have to think about this. May just leave my...

Me No Sweat No More.. Bought Me A New A/C System ..This is the Best one I Have Seen.

Just a few comments/questions re TOTAL costs. 1) I have seen the note re POS micro-switches before. What is the solution? 2) Hot Rod Air controls - their own? Sliding underdash. What does this mean? Are stock vent/heating/defrost knobs bypassed? 3) I have Powerglide with the stock transmission...

VNV, I appreciate that. It may be -30F now but July is coming.

Me No Sweat No More.. Bought Me A New A/C System ..This is the Best one I Have Seen.

Does anyone have an engine compartment pic where one of these aftermarket units has been installed? I am trying to see how "aftermarket" it looks in terms of pulleys, belts, hoses, and compressor.

Me No Sweat No More.. Bought Me A New A/C System ..This is the Best one I Have Seen.

Yes, a lot of blowing snow and the windchill is -31F. I'm cranky. VNV, I look forward to pics and descriptions of the work as it proceeds. My alternator is on the driver's side and battery on the passenger. I have toyed with the idea of A/C for a couple of years but the various kits all seemed...

Me No Sweat No More.. Bought Me A New A/C System ..This is the Best one I Have Seen.

Is this one of those I need extra pulleys and can't remove my battery on the passenger side conversions? And move alternator to driver's side. And move battery to driver's side as well just to avoid plumbing interference. Then need new drive belts. Basic kit $1,200US. Plus labour. Finished...

Outwest, Another reason to drive a 327/300 is that it is very dependable. That is important to me. My idea of a mechanical challenge/triumph is bending a fuel line without kinking it. When I change spark plugs there is serious loss of blood owing to the shield brackets. Ever try to change out a...
