Code 16 but no symptoms??? not sure.

Sometimes the door switch, especially the drivers side will not turn the lights out when you close the door. I have replaced that switch twice on my green LT4. I always make sure the lights go off when I close the door, before I leave the car. If the light stays on, I usually can jiggle the...

Aggravating Vibration - Can't pin it down

I agree with "geekinavettte". Tire issue for sure for the reasons he discribed. It is not uncommon for the brand new tire to be out of round, or defective, and impossible to balance. Go back to the tire installer.

    Too much Crankcase Oil???

Quart and a half is alot, but I don't think it did any damage to the engine. You may have noticed a slight reduction in normal performance due to the crank being submerged in oil, but if you didn't notice blue smoke out the exhaust I think you should be fine. This is a classic example of why I...

Local Corvette club, GM work behind scenes to fulfill dying member’s dream of seeing new C7 firsthand

Very heartworming story. GM should be commended for this. Big Corporations like GM often lose touch with the customer base they want to keep while trying to attract new, younger buyers. It is my opinion, this not so small act of kindness to a long time Corvette fan will go a long way with us...

Help! Car starts hard when engine is warm

Corvette Action Center | Tech Center | C4 Corvette Tech Center | C4 Corvette Optispark Dissection and Replacement Here is a link describing the Optispark. I do not believe you can just replace the cap and rotor. It's all one unit. I think the strategy you describe is a good one. Keep going.

Help! Car starts hard when engine is warm

Brian, Welcome to the forum. Sounds like your fuel system is fine. Was the Opti every replaced? Since you are not getting any codes, could be that, especially since you are discribing a hard start, sputtering condition. I'm sure the experts will chime in soon with some additional info.

LT4 What is the true temp gauge or analog

Like Hib said the analog temp gauge is not very accurate. The digital gauge works pretty well. I usually leave the display on the Temp gauge at all times. Not that I worry about the car overheating, but it makes me feel better knowing the temperature.

    LT4 LT4 - 1st to 4th Gear Shift Fix

I have had both cars unplugged, the green car since 1999, and have never set a code. I do agree with Hib, the easiest way, without unplugging anything, is drive the car a little more agressively. You really only have to get the car to about 20 MPH in first to be able to shift to second.

    LT4 LT4 - 1st to 4th Gear Shift Fix

Even simpler fix, just un-plug it.

    HELP...water spotting on car

Neo, Frtom the picture it looks like it's not just a few water spots. Looks like maybe the clear was damaged from the cover sitting on the hood wet for 6 days. I would try to use mild cleaner/polish on the effected area. You might need to have the hood wet sanded by a professional. Re-paint...

Question: Best way to insure 1960 Corvette

Hagerty insures both my Corvettes. Both have an agreed upon value, and no retrictions on the amount of driving I can do on either car. Rates are very reasonable. Good luck with the '60.:thumb
