I had stock manifolds with 2.25 pipes bent by the local redneck muffler shop(i know the guy so I can call him that) with Flowmaster Delta Flow 50's. It had a good sound. However I just got done(15 min ago)installing Hooker side pipes.
Make sure you have the room to do a frame-off. The chassis will take up one half of a two car garage and the body will take up the other half. Plus you need somewhere to store all the parts you take of the car.
You're going to get 800 responses to keep your Quadrajet. Mine was long gone when I bought my car. I have a Holley 670 Street Avenger on mine and i'm very happy with it.
Gary, I have my original 1970 bezel for sale in the "parts for sale" section. It won't be cosmetically like your 68 but should fit fine and its already cut for a modern CD player.
I've never had any problems with paint chips with the 245's. They are still contained inside the wheel well. I'm not sure that would be the case with a 68 or 69 though.
Now that my factory radio has been restored I thought somebody might be interested in putting a new CD player in their Vette but dosen't want to cut their original bezel. This is my original 70 bezel that my PO cut for a new radio. He fabricated a piece of alumium to fit the stock bezel. I wish...
I just installed my radio yesterday(another P.I.T.A.). It sounds fantastic. My little $20 MP3 player works perfect through it and I can hide the cord when not in use. I paid $75 extra to have RCA outputs added on the back as in the future I plan to add a small Bazooka bass tube back there. Here's...
Actually this is a better photo to show off the tires. The fenders are casting a shadow on the tires in the first pic making the car appear to sit too high.
Thanks Jeff, I ended up going with the XE 276 cam after our conversation. Going to try another start-up tomorrow. The Brown truck delivered my new water pump this afternoon.
Excellent PCV fabrication. I always loved those scripted valve covers but never thought of a way to get them to work. I hope my sidepipe installation goes a little smoother. I always considered Hooker to be one of the best when it comes to Headers. Its a shame to see the quality of their product...
Nice pics. I like your valve cover extentions. I'd like to learn more about your "hidden PCV valve". I may need some of your advice when it comes to your Hooker stainless sidepipe nightmare you went through. I'm considering the same sidepipes.
I just had my original radio restored by Vintage Auto Radio services. They take your original radio and put new modern electronics in it as well as an I-pod cord. It's a little pricey a $375.00. I'm supposed to get the radio back this week. I'll post a new thread and let everyone know how it...
I did some measuring today and found out I already have a Corvette length pump on the car. No wonder I could never get the pulleys to line up. If anybody ever starts a " whose previous owner was a bubba thread" I could write a book.
