    Question: 76 Going to Holley

I have no experience with the Holley Spread Bore but I've read on forums where people have had problems using the factory air cleaner with it. You could always get a Square Bore Holley AND an Edelbrock Perfomer intake for the same price as the Spread bore.

Correct clutch & bell housing specs needed for my 73 ( AKA undoing the years O mods ) HELP!!!!

I don't think you have your original transmission anymore. I think GM changed from the 10 spline to the 26 spline in 71 or 72.

    Muffler Sound

Any "competent" muffler shop should have no problem putting an H pipe on your car.

    Muffler Sound

Your car originally came with 2 inch pipes from the manifolds to the mufflers(LT-1's had 2 1/2). I think I bought 2 1/4 mufflers because I was going to replace the pipes when(if) I got headers. I ended up with side pipes instead.

    Muffler Sound

I was very happy with the sound of these mufflers. I had a pair on a 5.0 Mustang back in the day. These mufflers are now on my Father-in-Law's 1970 383 Charger and they sound great on that car as well.

    Muffler Sound

I bought mine from Summit Racing. I bought the Stainless Steel versions for around $100 each.

    Muffler Sound

I agree, I had 50 series Delta's on mine before I put the side pipes on. They sounded great using the stock manifolds.

Make sure the check valve is installed in the main vacuum line coming off the intake manifold.

    Help! Searching for new camshaft

I agree with Hib. A good friend had a 79 L48. Just by putting headers and true dual exhaust on it lowered the ET in the 1/4 mile from 14.90 to 14.30 and picked up three miles an hour in trap speed.

    Carburetor Questions

The LT-1 came with vacuum secondaries. Part #R4489 or R4555.

Please take care of your baby (the Vette) after making it your own

It looked like the driver jumped out quickly leaving the ignition switch in the on position and the electric fuel pump was continuing to pump fuel to feed the fire.

    Pulls Right During Acceleration

You could have a parking brake out of adjustment (too tight) on one side.

    Ported Vacuum ?

Do a search on that topic here on the forum. John Z did an excellent write up on Manifold vs ported vacuum. I'll post a link if I can find it.

Uh oh, look what I found today.

Always knew this day would come. Ordered a new AC Delco master cylinder and Timkin wheel bearings from Rock Auto yesterday. Will call VB&P Monday morning and order calipers, pads and new brake lines. Might as well take care of everything while I'm at it.

Uh oh, look what I found today.

Looks like the rear end overhaul I was planning will have to wait until I take care of something more important. Looks like I'll be calling Vette Brakes Monday morning.

    Help! 4000 RPM's at 65mph . NORMAL?

First thing I would do is make sure your speedometer is correct using a GPS or a smartphone.

    Horsepower/Stock Ideas

If my 70 was still stock I would pocket port the stock 186 heads, install a mild hydraulic roller cam, and change the 2 inch exhaust to 2 1/4.
