    Help! 1970 side vent grilles

On a 70,only the horizontal lines were taped off. The vertical lines were painted. On 71-72 cars both the horizontal and vertical lines were taped off. It may be possible to lightly sand off the paint on the horizontal ribs and polish them up with a dremel tool. Hope this helps.

The first T-top American sports car?

I found it. It is in a Feb.1998 Corvette Fever article where David Holls is being interviewed about the 68 Corvette.Scan131630000_zps4725071e.jpg.html

The first T-top American sports car?

I may have spelled his last name wrong. It may take me a day or two to find it in my Library.

The first T-top American sports car?

Gordon Breuhig received a free 68 Corvette from his lawsuit with GM and put a personalized license plate on it that read "MY TOP".

    Help! 1974 4 speed

You must be a truck driver. I sometimes forget what i'm driving and shift mine without the clutch. You must push the clutch in when you "get on it" or it will stick in gear. You would have to let off the throttle just to get it out of gear and that would defeat the purpose of a "quick shift".

    '72 gas cap vented?

Like SVO said, check the gasket between the tank and the filler tube. That is where the gas smell I had came from.

What did I do wrong ,tore up gear to a MSD distributor in 454 crate engine

Looks like your crate motor has a roller cam in it. You need to purchase a melonized gear for your distributor. I'm using the composite gear from Comp Cams with my roller cam and I'm very satisfied with it. Make sure you get the correct size gear. The MSD takes a .500 gear not the normal .491 gear.

Question: vacuum lines on an edelbrock carb

I don't remember when I had my Edelbrock carb which port was what, but it sounds like you used the ported vacuum port instead of the manifold vacuum port on the carb. The ported vacuum will not have vacuum at idle and could be the cause your headlight problems.

Question: Front speaker install for '71...and rear speaker suggestions?

The passenger side speaker is a piece of cake, the drivers side however is a different story since the steering column has to be lowered to get the panel off. I have a set of 6x9's in the back of mine that are absolutely useless when the top is down (which is 99.9% of the time). My previous...

    Re-tune after installing hooker header/sidepipes

I did mine the lazy way. I just ran a tap through the hole and stuck a screw in it.

I ordered mine directly from STS.

    Re-tune after installing hooker header/sidepipes

You are going to love the sound with those STS Spiral Baffles. Do you plan to drill a hole in the end cap for more sound or leave them alone? I initially drilled a half inch hole when I first installed mine because Lars said he did. I thought at first it was a little to loud and plugged up the...

Question: I want to pick up my first vette and I don't know where to begin.

Try to go to as many car shows as you can and see Corvettes in person. Definitely read as many books and learn as much as you can before you buy. Then you can look for THE Vette instead of a Vette.

    2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Unveiled!

I have resisted to comment until now so that the new design can "sink in". I am still not a fan of the rear end or the taillights. There is a picture on Chevrolet's web site(#14of 20) that shows a Grey C7 from a front/side angle that is absolutely stunning. I think when we all finally get to...

    Where to mount MSD box?

Thanks Hib and Tim for your help. I will start looking near the core support for suitable location. Did you guys run the 6A power leads all the way to the Battery?

    Where to mount MSD box?

Santa was nice enough to bring me a new MSD Pro Billet Distributor for Christmas to replace the aging Mallory Unilite without Vac advance that has been in my car since I bought it. I need some advise on where other owners have mounted the required ignition box. My personal preference is to...

Question: Wheels: Clear coat or not:

Although I have never tried this on rims, I have seen Clear Powder coat work well on Intake Manifolds without yellowing. maybe something to investigate.
