Question: Headers for a 1969 factory side mount exhaust system

:cool!: Can't wait to see the pictures. I love LeMans blue. You will love your new side pipes, I just installed Hooker pipes about a month ago and love them.

Peanut Butter. Don't laugh it works great on pine tree sap.

Question: Headers for a 1969 factory side mount exhaust system

i know the "s" pipe isn't the greatest flowing solution but the factory sidepipes don't flow that well anyway.

Question: Headers for a 1969 factory side mount exhaust system

I don't have any pics, but i've seen many cars with full length headers and factory side pipes. They just had a muffler shop weld up a simple "s" bend pipe to connect the two.

    Question: Powered/Amplified Subwoofer:

Not yet but its on the to do list. A friend has one in his 68 vert and it fits behind the folded down top really well.

    Astro venilation

I removed mine and just riveted some sheetmetal in their place and painted them black. A/C cars never had them anyway and my top is always down so I thought they were unneeded.

Check out the Bazooka 6 inch class D powered bass tubes. They also make an 8 inch which should fit.

70 vert is it worth the investment

I would definitely heed Mikey's advice. A 70 454 for 10 grand is a smoking deal and would be an excellent investment if its not a rust bucket. I didn't like Marboro Maroon at first either but it has grown on me. Don't worry about painting it another color, its your car.Maroon is believed to be...

    Hot Rod Power Tour

Does anybody know the route for the first leg of the Power Tour?(Canaveral to Valdosta) I know they like to take back roads when possible and stay off the Interstate so I'm thinking they will come up US301 through North Florida.

    Putting a 454 in a 350 car

I would definitely go with the aluminum heads if you can afford them. It will take a good bit of weight off the front of the car.

rivet bumps on hood of car

Excellent pics. I'm starting not to be scared to do this job myself.

The UPS truck came today bearing goodies

As a fellow UPS driver,I'm glad you got all four rims undamaged. Most wheel manufactuers don't pack the rims in the boxes well enough and we damage quite a few. Can't wait to see pics of them installed.

Corvette ZR1 owner locks self in car, calls 911

So the poor rich guy is too dumb to read the owners manual for his car and gets locked in and going to sell it for a Camero(his spelling) because he thinks it looks better than the ZR1. I guess he doesn't relize that his highly modified Camaro weighs 1000 pounds more than his ZR1.

    350 T-6 aluminum block

It will do a good job of draining your wallet. You can buy a good used LS motor for less than what an aluminum block will cost.

    Timing Marks?

So you can check your total timing. I'm not sure but its probably not a stock balancer. It saves you from having to buy a timing light with an advance dial. Rev your engine to about 3000 rpm with the vac advance disconnected. The timing mark should be between 32 and 36 degrees.

    Eliminating the Catalytic Converter

Since you want all opinions, I would ditch the whole exhaust and install a true dual exhaust system and get your 30 HP back the single cat robbed you of.

    Flowmaster "44" series mufflers

I had stainless delta flow 50's on my 70. I thought they sounded great,no resonance at all, just a deep powerful exhaust note. I just gave them to my father-in-law(I just put on sidepipes) and they sound great on his 70 383 Charger as well.

New Dyno Results: Re-Test of the 383!

Now if we could just figure out how to get that Air-gap intake under our hoods. I'm impressed it made that much of an improvement.
