Capt ron, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you car. I will pass out pictures of your car at the Stanley show and the Mooresville show next Saturday. 32 years with the same Vette puts that in a class with being part of the family.
For the rest of us, what can we do the prevet this from...
Electrical Nightmare!
On my 74 the front door jam switch controls the courtesy lights and the key buzzer, when you open the door the switch makes the circut to ground could that switch be shorting out? Just a guess since yours is a different year. PG.
Bolts.
You need round head 1/4" 20 1/2" long with lock nuts, here's a helpful link

Don't just pull that motor!
Hi Jim B, you can tap the motor with a plastic hammer, some times the brushes in the motor stick and that frees them up.
Hotshotzny was able to do that by slaming his door.
Don't pull the motor off without first removing the whole regulator assembly, it's spring...
Gas Cap
Your 73 came with a sealed non vented gas cap. There are 4 rubber gas lines at the tank one into the vapor return and the other into the tank those are one the left side of the tank, you also have two more lines on the right side of the tank, the feed to the pump and the return from the...
First wave!
Don't worry if the owner of a new vette is too much of a snob to wave, they see my 74 as nothing to compare with there "HIGH TECH" ZO6. There was a day when my 66 427 could not be beat at Connecting Highway or Cross Island Highway, most of them were not born then.
Just keep the...
Parking Brake.
Since you ordered new trailing arm they should have all stainless steel hardware and that's a good thing. Original parts could rust together and make it impossible to adjust or release if the car was parked for a long time with the brake on. Most states require that the parking...
Check the connections first.
Your alternator is putting out a little more that normal, should be about 13.8 heres a link to rebuild the alternator, your voltage regulator may be going, http://www.4wheelnoffroad.com/alter.html but before you get into that check that the connections at the...
Connections to heater shut off valve.
Hi markwrob, yes I got the email and was able to make a copy for my AIM, for some reason mine did not show any connections for the heater shut off valve.
Glad you were able to solve your problem. I am amazed at the things that "Bubba" did to our cars when...
Front end rebuild.
Hi acman60. That's the way to do it, as long as your in that area change everything and it will last another 20 years. You might want to change the idler arm while your at it. After replacing all those parts if you still have any slack in the steering check the rag joint...
Try to adjust it first, it might be easier if you pull the seat out first and schedule an appointment with your chiropractor for Monday, just be glad you don't have to replace the power booster, PG.

Heat under dash!
Hi markwrod, those are the best diagrams I've ever seen, I wanted to copy them to keep a permement record but i can only copy the left side of the page, could you please shrink them up and email them to me?
Petes74ttop@aol.com thanks, PG.
Runs Hot
Before you buy a new radiator here's a few things to check:
Spoiler under car
Radiator seals
Correct rad cap
shroud
fan clutch
how old is the water pump
lower rad hose has a spring in it. PG.
Oil pan removal.
If you remove the idler arm at the frame and put the timing mark at 5 o'clock, looking at it from the front, the oil pan will come off.
The trans pan is easy, remove all the bolts except the 4 corners, then loosen the front bolts, then remove one rear then loosen the...
