Your Dad must really be hard on that car if those dodads are messed up. The ones on my '98 look and feel brand new! Look around a hobby store too or even the home improvement center in your town. You never know what might fit on our vettes! :L

This has nothing to do with the transmission. What you're feeling is a lazy trans brake solenoid.....the electriacal device that locks the A4 shift lever in Park until you have the key on or started and your foot on the brake. These solenoids can eventually quit working. Mine did more of this...

My '98 is older, but flawless at 67K miles and it's not a garage queen. I wouldn't trade it for a C6 even up! The vette is just a car, there are good ones and bad ones of any model year, just like any car ever made....foreign and domestic. It's all about condition, condition, condition! ;)
