    "GD" Wiper door and Linkage

Not sure how it was done originally, but I had to remove the wiper door to give enough room.

    I have the coolest wife...

My wife and our daughter are down at VA Beach visiting family - and to see the Tower of Power show. :dance Knowing that the L88 hood I recently bought didn't work out (sold it on eBay) - and knowing the style that I really wanted, my wife bought a big block/LT-1 hood that she found while down...

    "GD" Wiper door and Linkage

Yes, those 3/8 on the plates are connected to studs. The other 3/8 nuts are also connected to studs... they fasten the vaccum canister bracket to the wall and hold the linkage in place. For the 5/16 screws... when you open (or remove) the wiper door, look at the bottom of the windshield...

    "GD" Wiper door and Linkage

Yep. You can remove the whole thing from the top. I have mine out now. One each side, there are two 3/8 nuts and retainer plate that fasten the wiper linkage to the cowl area; as well as two 3/8 nuts that fasten to the wiper door actuator bracket. Also on each side, there is also a 5/16...

    Question about speedometers

I've never seen 165. My Vette goes to 160; Camaro goes to 150. Ralph

    Help! Fuel Pump Removal

I used an inexpensive plastic pressure clamp that I got from Lowes.

    Who repairs speedometers?

Harrison Gauges in Florida Mike, I've had a number of my gauges (clock, speedo, and tach) rebuilt at Harrison Gauges in Florida. Contact Bill Harrison at gldnkngt@adelphia.net - He is honest, friendly, and does excellent work. I have to repeat - he is honest. He once quoted me a price...

    MAD Chambered Exhaust ?

I have the MAD chambered system on my Vette, and love it. When I decided to update the exhaust on my Z-28, I could not find a chambered system... Instead I found someone who makes chambered exhaust mufflers ("tubes"), and then had them custom installed. Here's how they look...

    Which Pushrods?

We're all behind you, brother! Can't wait to see (and hear) that bad-boy when you're done --- I'm sure it's gonna be schweeeet! Ralph

    Question: TRW 340 performance springs

I have the Bilstein Sports with the VB&P "Gymkhana" 550 lbs/inch coil springs. They recommended this combination and it works great.

    Which Pushrods?

Hmmm.... didn't someone make this prediction a while back?? :D Ralph

    Considering a DeWhitt radiator.

I'm not sure, but I received a private message here in the CAC from Tom deWitt when I was looking for a radiator.

    Considering a DeWhitt radiator.

I replaced my radiator with the deWitt. I didn't go for the expensive aluminum version, which is fine because the brass variety works great. With the scorching summer heat here in MD, my engine has never even come close to overheating... I've overheated personally sitting in the Vette--- but...

Started on the BBC, 427 or 454... ?

Here are the heads... I shot some PB Blaster in the valve ports to help keep them from rusting up.

    Would like a stick

I would bet many shops are not aware of these kits. A friend of mine owns the shop that does my transmission work. He's done the auto to manual transmission conversion before using the Kiesler kit... in his words, "it's a piece of cake..."

Started on the BBC, 427 or 454... ?

It was relatively temperate out today, so I started to clean the big block heads... Holy crap these are some heavy muthas!:eek The casting # is 336781. They're open chamber heads with oval ports. The date codes are L773 and K1973. I believe these are from a 1973 454 motor. I am going to have...
