The LT-1 drop base air cleaner is not going to clear that vent tube either. I've never seen a Holley with a vent tube there.

Question: Best intake port size / flow for this engine?

If both heads have the same size intake port then go with the one that flows better. What heads are you looking at? What cam are you installing?

Its actually one of those stock looking handles for the Hurst shifters that all the vendors sell. Its a little expensive($85.00)but worth it.

Help! Hooker Side Exhaust Headers or standard headers:

Type in STS baffles in youtube. There is a nice road trip video of a big-block Corvette that will give you a good idea of the sound.

Help! 74 Vette. Stingray emblem. How do I remove them?

The Stingray emblems do not have nuts on the back of them. The pins are just for alignment. The emblem is held on with adhesive.

They have two tabs for alignment but no nuts on them. Try to use some fishing line to get between the glue and the fender.

Question: Need Fuel Line and Filter PICS

Here is a poor shot of mine. Its steel line from the local parts store. Its actually 2 pieces butted up together by a 4 inch piece of Fuel Injection hose. Not the prettiest but it works for now.

    Carburetor Formula

Those carbs won't fit your stock spread bore intake. They make adaptors to fit but you would run into hood clearance issues. Your best bet would be to buy an Edelbrock performer(not the RPM) intake to go with your new carb. Welcome to the CAC.

High Performance Heads vs L82 Heads on a L48 - Quest for more Horsepower!

If you are going the wrecking yard route, try to grab some aluminum heads off a L98 C4 Corvette with the 58cc chambers. Just remember you will pay more in machine work on any used head than just buying a new set of Vortecs.

Video: Hot Rod Hacks up a Corvette

I was way more upset by the youtube video of the 2 mechanics(?) that took a perfectly good 89 that was traded in for the "cash for clunkers" and deliberatly blew the motor.

    ethanol gas

If you have a fear of Ethanol, check with the Marinas in your area. Most marinas around here sell Ethanol-free fuel for boats. Just fill up with that before you store your car for the season.
