I've had mine on jackstands with the doors on, doors off, tops in, tops out, hood closed, hood open. These cars have a full frame. If they are going to break just by having the doors open, they wouldn't last 5 minutes on the road.
The amps are Alpine and the selling point is that they are "Digital" so they don't create heat. I'm not an electronics guru so I don't know about all that. I just know after listening to the radio for 6 hours on the way to Hot Springs Arkansas in the summer, they were barely warm. The only...
I've actually got a 12" sub mounted under the rear deck facing down. I also have two 8", one on each side over the rear wheel well up against the rear wall, two 4" x 6" two ways in the dash and two 4" x 6" two ways in the kick panels. I have 1200 watts of amps in the jack compartment. It will...
If he already know about that, he probably wouldn't have posed the question. All I meant was as Hib said. The springs will limit the amount of travel. I suppose I wasn't clear enough. If you change them to a set that will allow more, you can use a more agressive cam profile.
I have the hood off my '77 for sale. It is in great shape, I just bought an L-88 hood recently. I would prefer local pickup due to shipping PIA. $250.00 without the '57 fuel-injection emblems, $325.00 with. I'm in the Fort Worth, Tx. area. Don't know why the pic only shows up as a red X, but it...
The one sitting on my shelf is 17 5/8" 7 blade. If you're interested, I have the clutch too. I'll never use it. Make me an offer? I'm not sure what the opening in the shroud was, I sold it. Art
I went through 4 of them and finally said to heck with it and converted to manual rack and pinion. The fourth one leaked before I even drove the car out of my shop. Lasted maybe 5 minutes, just long enough to center, and then started leaking.
I sent you a PM earlier today. I would be interested in the latches and lower brackets for the removable rear window. I have the window already, I just need the rest. Possibly the halo panels also. My E-mail is art.jett@yahoo.com. Thanks, Art
You got that right!! I have a FI 383 in mine along with a bunch of other custom work and I'm already getting ready to swap a perfectly good hood out for an L-88 in about a month. Probably the next thing will be a B&M shifter and possibly a Paxton supercharger or something like that. My wife has...
Do you run electric fans? If so, maybe you could utilize something like I did. I used an air cleaner assy from an 85 turned upside down under the rad. I cut out the top and fabbed a scoop that comes out through the center of the little air dam under the front. I then used a 4" flex hose up to my...
Do a search on this section for GTR1999. He is in that part of the world and I've read many threads about the quality of his work. You wouldn't go wrong. Art
