From the listing in the for-sale thread, I noticed this in the ad:
Is there any truth behind that? I'd never heard anything like that about how the cars came to be.

Cool! It used to be Jack Cauley Chevrolet, but now I think it's Cauley Cars or something like that. They are in Bloomfield Hills, and my grandfather used to take me up there to look at the Corvettes (I was 12 in '87). They always had a couple B2K's on hand, and I thought those were so cool...

His latest blog #13. I haven't listened to it yet though, but presumably it will interest you. :)
Cool stuff! All these old MW videos surfacing is pretty cool. In the LM video, it looks like maybe they were discussing the GS first. That would have been neat to see as well.
You have to open the magazine. Neat article! I was expecting one a little closer to home, though, but sounds like it's gonna be in the next issue! :)
As an aside, I think like CE. The articles are interesting, it's not all puff pieces and dubious info. I'd sort of grown to hate...
I just thought I'd post this up here because you never know, and it seems like a good deal. The 2nd ZR-1 on this list: http://www.zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_sale.htm
It's a '90, 45k miles, $16k. It has a salvage title, though, which is probably why he's having a hard time selling it. But it...
Maybe he just meant he doesn't like the price because $20k for a set of dymags (with a lot of "extras" ;) ) is steep. Or maybe just because he doesn't have that kind of money to spend on a car. It didn't seem like slam on the price of the car to me. Looks like a nice price for a fun 'vert.
I'd hope $160k isn't the norm for the ZR1. However, with the C16 comparo, how much does the C16 weigh? Just curious since the Z is so carbon-intensive. Though I'd bet the wheels weigh a fair bit more than those slick Dymag/Callaway ones.
Also, can you get ceramic brakes on the Callaway?
Well, for 40 some years of the Corvette's existence, there was no NCM. Those things would probably have been kept by GM, and maybe or maybe they would not have made them available.
No doubt the museum gets a lot of interesting things by virtue of the fact that they are the Corvette Museum...
I'm not because I don't really see a reason to be. The savings on events that I attend is not enough to cover the membership cost. That said, I'm more than happy to give the NCM money for events, products, etc that fill my needs. But I don't feel compelled to give them money just for existing...
Looks like an iForged: http://iforged.com/showroom/main.php?g2_itemId=6627
They do make them to fit 'vettes. I believe they custom make them so you can get any offset and size (more or less).
