    Semershiems...links to

I can't find a link to an address for Semershiems (spelling?) to buy fiberglass panels from. Does it take as long to get individual panels as I've heard it takes for a complete press mold front end? Thanks...Stan

Question regarding coolant leaks in between heads and block

I agree...that's why I was wondering what type of head gasket was used. If they were shim type type gaskets...my money's is on a poor block deck surface. Seems like some guys will deck the heads but not the block... Composit gaskets will generally over come the problem ...but shim gaskets may...

Question regarding coolant leaks in between heads and block

I'm not sure I would rely on the builder at this point. I would pull the head or have someone other than the builder pull it. Just to be certain what the problem was. (regardless what the builder said)....and before it was fired. A visual should tell you right quick what the problem...

What is your rear gear ratio...now that harland has mentioned it?

Thanks Stepinwolf.. That is what I would have thought (3.55)for most small blocks that have owned, most of which have been a 350 or bigger. I imagine that a good 327 would be very happy with anything that a 350 likes....but I wasn't sure about an old school 283. I wouldn't be surprised that a...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Thanks very much for your in depth post Bob... That's kind of information I was searching for. It is indeed for a big dollar long term investment...at least for me. It also will be for my personal enjoyment for several years as well. Even with the retro-mod cars bringing more than...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Thanks IH2... I have done alot of searches on the subject....and saw that thread too. It seems that if there is a shread of glass left that the general consensus is to fix it. My project is worse that what your pics were in that thread. I just wonder where the line is....when does a new...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Due to the lack of response to the query.... I guess the press molded front end must be peoples choice regardless of the project..... Bueller....Bueller .....anyone.....anyone...?....?

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Thanks again Tom for the input... I'm really just fishing.. I don't know one supplier from another. That is one of the things I had hoped to determine , along with whether or not it would be a good choice for the project... According to the usual catalogues they are about $3000 cheaper...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Good morning and Thanks Tom.... Did you have to do anything serious to get it the way you wanted it? Was it any more difficult to install compared to ...? I think they all come as a shell and inner fenders have to be added....but some can be had with the dash top attached or not. Was there...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Thanks Mac... I kinda thought the same thing, but I sure don't know. Of course I did know for correct restorations they wern't even a consideration.. Looks like I'm going to have to bone up on lots of thigs I don't know about.. Must be controversial or some of our big guns would have shot it...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

Hey guys...its Ok if you disagree with this guy. Like I said I was surprised...that he said that. I'm just trying to determine if that's a crock or not. I've spent the last two chilly days and nights reading previous fiberglass post....looks like if there is a shread of glass left it's...

Lokar emergency brake vs stock brake handle..

Thanks John.... Of course..I should have known that...I'm looking at so many different things on this project this week that I'm brain dead I guess. Trying not to forget anything.... I'm having to rethink the plan I rethought before I rethought it last time. Lost my body man it seems...So...

Lokar emergency brake vs stock brake handle..

I noticed that several have used the Lokar emergency brake handle on their retro cars with after market frames. I was wondering if this was because the stock handles wouldn't work well or ...the Lokar was used because the stock handles wern't available or are very expensive or both. I have a...

Fiberglass gurus....one piece hand laid front end (C1) with dash or...?

It was told by a reliable source that a one piece hand laid front end for a C1 is as good and perhaps a little stronger than the press mold front ends. This is in reference to building a retro car with an aftermarket frame, motor etc., where originality is a moot point. I was surprised to say...

What is your rear gear ratio...now that harland has mentioned it?

Thanks for the info Wally and Mike.. Hello again John...and thanks that's really the way to go. ...but I'm really just kicking this around....to see if I could do it where it would drive OK. It's not something I would spend much on...I'd just use mostly parts I already have. I thought...
