Dave,
Did you ever baseline dyno it?
That Honker really seems to add some nice power. Using 15% drivetrain loss, I guesstimate your CHP to be ~570!:ohnoes
It's not a true cold air. The Vararam is but I've read a few complaints about it. Buddy of mine had a Vararam that he swore was the biggest piece of crap. A guy I know had a VR on his '01 SW Z06 and said that it ingested water through the intake and hydrolocked the motor.
I have the BW on...
This is something that I've looked for as well since I got my C5. All I want to do is hook something up so I can use the headphone jack from my iPod. I really don't care about charging it or using the C5's audio controls to change songs, etc.
That $330 system from Mid America is just too...
If he said that to me, it would've been a short conversation.
I would've just replied, "Oh, okay" and gone about my business and not even bother talking to him.
That's why I'm glad I wake up early to do stuff on the weekends, less idiots out when it's early. :upthumbs
How much oil do you guys lose between changes?
I've read that a quart between changes is acceptable? I've got a Z if that makes consumption any different from a coupe/'vert.
Why even compare the C6 to the C4. This isn't a knock on C4's, I had one but the jump from C4 to C5 was enormous. That was a revolutionary jump and the C6 is an even further jump from the C4. I know you may have some sentimental value in that old LT4 but how can it compete on any level with...
When doing it yourself, make sure the car is level because they were genius in putting the drain in the front of the pan. :L
A FSM is a must. I paid $150 for mine, worth every single penny.
What is this driving season you guys talk about? With the exception of a few weeks out of the year, every season is a driving season in southwest Oklahoma. :upthumbs
I haven't seen a ZR-1 being driven around yet, then again, OK doesn't seem like a big place to see things. :L
Do seem C6 Z06's from time to time, even saw one on post being driven by an enlisted guy. Wish I was enlisted!
I went with those red wires on my Z06 and I used the boot covers. I do have headers, though, don't know how that makes a difference in temps underneath the hood versus the exhaust manifolds.
It's very easy to do. I just replaced the factory battery in my car a month ago. Lasted more than 7 years so I can't complain. :L
I ended up going with an Interstate, it was about $70 from Sam's Club.
It's just the two terminals and a battery tray. That's it, should take you about 5...
And to think that a little $50 plug could've saved him that trouble. It was one of the first things I did to my car was the column lock bypass.
And make sure that LG tunes the 2 mph cutoff out for your car, Dwayne.
