    Question: C4 tune up

Been there done that. Being of the younger generation I can sympathize with you as it wasn't long ago I was in your shoes. It took me a while to realize that you can't just go through a book and add up all the horse power numbers from all the bolt on's and have an additional 100 hp. How did you...

    Question: C4 tune up

There are many good running crossfires still in existence. At their time they served a purpose, just as the L98 cars did, and the LT1 cars. All things lead to what we have today. When introduced the C4 was an amazing car, and for those that still own one still is.;) Facts are facts though...

    1970 Big Block date code

Does the date code on the stamp pad match the location on the top of the bell housing? On the assembly line, was only the serial number stamped into the pad?

    1970 Big Block date code

The casting number is correct. I'm still trying to get date code information. How does the date code work? The stamp pad suffix is CZU, there is some other information as well. I'm trying to get all the pieces to the puzzle before I make the trip to look at the car.

    1970 Big Block date code

The casting number checks out, but that particular casting number was used for 1969 as well I believe. Also, there is a 3 digit suffix on the stamp pad that matches. Where is the best source for decoding these blocks, a complete listing would be ideal, but I imagine I would be hard pressed to...

    1970 Big Block date code

I'm looking at a 70 BB coupe 4sp. All the numbers check out. It is a very early production, first 300 built that year. Before I spend the money, worrying about a potential re stamp, I'm curious what date of manufacturer for the engine is expected for this car.

    Question for Hib

Out of curiosity, have you done any work lately that could have compromised the TV cable adjustment? If you didn't, I would check it anyways. Make sure the proper adjustment procedure is followed, and see if that improves your issue. If it doesn't you aren't out anything but about 10 minutes.

    1973 bleeding brakes

I don't think I have worked on the brakes of a 73, but I have on other C3's and from what I can remember there are 3 bleeders in the rear. There is an inner and outer top, along with a lower inner. This is strictly from memory. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also believe it is important the...

    I found a 1956 corvette barn find

That is an amazing story. I wish I could say that same. Any chance the guy is lonely. From the conversation it doesn't appear that he has any sons, or perhaps he did at one time. I wouldn't think it would hurt to stop and and shoot the bull with the guy. Never know what may happen. About the...

    Question: wheels for 86

There are many options. Are your rims damaged? Are they just cosmetically in poor condition? I cleaned mine up about 7 years ago or so and they still look great today. If your mind is set on a newer style, then go ahead. It is always something I considered doing. Just don't have the funds, well...

    jet chip and moduals

Yep, sure is. There are several choices. To log, you can use datamaster. Free download for the first 20 scans, then pay. You need a cable that plugs into your ALDL connector then to a laptop. You can use TunerPro to create tunes, use flash n burn to then write these to a flash IC device. In...

    Hello everyone...

Welcome aboard:w I'm thinking that the owners manual will have all the driver information display data. I've never looked for one, but I'm sure they are out there. I used castrol before my motor build but still run it in my other cars and swear by it. I've never had any issues with mid...

    jet chip and moduals

The question you need to ask, is what am I getting for the money? I'm not familiar with the products you are referring to. I quit looking for cheap power adders about 10 years ago. Compared to a custom tune this may be a bargain, but a custom tune will also be night and day. I'm not sure how...

someone please help nostart for a month now!!

If you have a crank and no start with no back firing then either spark or fuel is lacking from the equation. The last variable is air. When you pull the plugs after cranking are they wet? If they are not wet, then you have a fuel issue. If they are wet, then a spark issue. Either way pull the...
