How many of you C3 owners have a Fire extinguisher in your vette?

I always keep one in both my cars. One day i was doing shop work with a torch so I pulled the extinguisher out of my Land Rover and had it nearby the shop in case. Forgot to put it back in my rover and two weeks later I had a fire in the engine bay. Now I have them in both my cars and all...

    weatherstriping

Ya I agree and some things are not listed on there that are listed in their catalog. I found the "hinge" weatherstrip, which is the little part between the front quarter panel and the windshield in their catalog and not on their site. So I ordered from Ecklers, but looking back at the cost...

    weatherstriping

i got a nice kit from the Last Detail for my 76. They seem to be consistently lower priced than most places, if only by a few dollars.

    Stupid Sidepipe question

I got the headers and sidepipes for about 1000 from Jet-Hot, with their sterling ceramic coating that goes inside and out. The muffs were another 150, but the spirals are like 300 i think. So, expect to pay at the most 1500 for parts. You can put them on yourself if you have the tools.

Best Place to Buy Hooker Side-Pipes?

I got my hooker headers and sidepipes jet-hot sterling cermaic coated directly from Jet Hot. They look like chrome, but stay cooler and don't blue out like chrome. Cost like right around 1,000 and then about 150 for the muff inserts from Summit. I have heard the Spiral Baffles are better, but...

    Calling all 76's

Sorry guys there is no way. I have school and work and probably an internship in the middle of it all. Would love to see the other 76's on the list.

    Interior Color Chart/Guide

I am looking for a color chart for interior colors for 68-82. Does anyone know a book that has one or a place on the internet that may have one? I am going to redo the interior, but I don't like the Firethorn Red of the 76. I am looking for a more vibrant RED, but without a chart it is hard...

    Complete Interior Replacement

Nice! You need to post some pics when you are done. I love my 76, but if I had known anything about vettes before hand I probably would have gotten a 70. So I am kind of Jealous. Does anyone know the fit difference from year to year? LIke if i buy an interior for a 74 will it fit my 76...

    Complete Interior Replacement

Does anyone know where I can see color swatches of the different Reds? Firethorn is the red for my 1976, but I wanted to see how that differed from other reds if at all.

    Complete Interior Replacement

Ya I saw that...what do they call it? "Simulated Material" you can get real Carbon Fiber though, so I might go that direction instead. I am going to be mostly red on the interior except for the seats, steering wheel and floor mats, which will be black, so maybe the carbon fiber would look good.

    Complete Interior Replacement

hey thanks man that is exactly what i was looking for! Been looking all over the internet for one! Ya as far as interior work I am a bit nervous about doing it. headers, carb rebuild...no prob...i am just afraid of draggin a screw driver across a nice new leather dash...YIKES!!

    Complete Interior Replacement

Oh additionally does anyone know the difference between the Red used in some years and the Red used in 1976? It seems like the red in 76 is more of a burnt orange. I am looking to get RED any particular year I should look for, as far as color designation?

    Complete Interior Replacement

Ok I am working outside in on my Vette. I have taken care of a good portion of the mechanical work, but then interior is pretty much shot. Clearly this is something I am going to do myself, but my question is are their any folks out there that sell kits or do i need to order each part...

    Lower t-arm shock mount...

Ya when I sent my trailing arms out to be rebuilt I couldn't get them out either. The guy that did the rebuild says there is a special tool. Problem with hammering on them is screwing the threads up or worse bending the mount on the trailing arm.

    A/C trouble shooting

Ya I am guessing I don't have freon, but I was kind of hoping to make an R134 conversion as long as I was going to be working on the system. So I guess make the conversion and then hope there are no leaks and the compressor works and see if the R134 holds?

    side pipes

Ya they are loud, but i didn't think they were terribly so. I took it out on the highway the other day with t-tops off and kind of liked it. Of course I have driven a land rover with a soft top for 8 years, so I could just be going deaf from the road noise. But, I don't think driving 2 or 3...

    A/C trouble shooting

Ok don't know very much about A/C systems other than I know mine doesn't work. When I bought the car it didn't work and i was too stupid to ask if the guy knew why not. Anyways with new suspension and headers on I would really like to drive it this summer, but in DC with the humidity i need...
