Ok I am probably going to install the hooker headers and sidepipes this weekend, but I have a really stupid question. Which way do the glasspack mufflers go in the sidepipes?
They look like they could be slipped in either way. Looking down the center tube of the muffler I can see what look...
I am planning on putting some Hooker Super Comps on my 76 L-48. As I am currently rebuilding the front suspension both sets of control arms are off.
Is the header install any easier with front suspension off, does it make any difference? Or should I just do the headers at my convenience...
quick question
So the ceramic ones from summit are only coated on the outside?
Also how does the collector connection look with the chrome side pipe, but ceramic header? Is there a big color difference. Sorry I have only seen small pictures never seen them live and up close.
Thanks again...
Pipes look super
I am rebuilding my suspension currently, but will be doing the pipes and headers soon. Could you post the part numbers you used for the headers, pipes and baffles?

thanks for the reply
Ya really all this work is being done just to get it good enough to drive to an alignment shop and let them get it all to spec. Thanks for the response I am looking forward to seeing how the new end sits.
I pulled the rear trailing arms and sent them to get rebuilt. In the process I have installed a new setup from VBP with Carbon Spring, New Diff, and Adjustable strut rods.
and here are the stupid questions.
When putting the trailing arms back in do I insert them first and then pound the...
I listed these before and had someone lined up to buy them, but I had some family stuff to take care of and couldn't pack and ship them in time. Anyways I am relisting them. It is a set of Dynomax Aluminum Mufflers with a stainless Y-pipe that were remove from my 1976 L-48. The Muffs are in...
Any suggetions on removing the pivot bolt on a rear trailing arm? The other arm came off fine, but this one seems to be wedged in there pretty good. Didn't know if anybody had a trick to getting it out.

Gasket type
Ok I will have to look at the gasket type. My old cover was cracked at the spring and since I was going to be under there and had other things to do I am actually re-doing the entire rear end with a kit from VBP. So I am not sure what kind of gasket they sent me, but I will take a...
I am switching to side pipes and as a result will be getting rid of my rear end exhaust. The Y-pipe appears to be stainless, but was already there when I bought the car so I cannot vouch for it. The mufflers I purchase last year, but only have about 1500 miles. The mufflers are Dynomax...
Two quick questions.
First do I use sealant around the diff cover gasket? If so, can someone recommend a sealant type that has worked for them.
Second, Any recommend type of Fluid that goes in the rear diff? Can I use synthetics?
Thanks for any and all help.

thanks for the help vig
I await your answer on the fuse amperage.
If your blower was squealing blew the fuse and died the blower motor may be shot, or it could just be a loose connection in the wiring.

Ok I lost the blower on my heater and I traced to an orange wire on the passenger's side in the engine compartment. There looks as though there is an inline fuse and the casing on mine opened up and dropped the fuse. Does any one know what amperage that fuse is? I can't find it on any of the...
I have read a lot on carbs in the forums and gotten some great material, but I was wondering if anyone had a specific recommendation for a carb that will run well on a stock 350 L-48 with standard exhaust and still run well after I convert to header's and side pipes later this summer?
Thanks...
