    Or 'sharknutz' . . .

    72 corvette 6000

If I didn't just become the 'sole bread winner' in my family, I'd be VERY interested. There's room in my 6 car garage. . . Craig

    81 Factory Alarm Acting up?

If it IS your alarm system acting up, wouldn't pulling it's fuse out of the fuse box stop it? Craig

L-82 or L-48? How can you tell?

On an 80, check the 5th digit of the VIN - 8 = L48, 6 = L82. I believe they all came with TH350's, 400's were mainly used in big block applications. Craig

    Hi all :-)

Hey Lori, guys from Texas, Hope you're getting the rain you need, we still are here! Major flooding here last week, well not 'here' here, but like 25 miles away. Pics in the paper of people fishing off of their porches and such. (that may mean 'lanai' for you southern folk) I went to a 'First...

    Running rough under load

Ditto on the fuel filter, tht's just how they act! Not expensive or difficult to change, so even if it was good you're not out much. Craig

    Assembly/startup problems-questions

Correct. Just keep the battery charged. And from the first post, fix the water pump bolt now. Don't take the belt off because the bolt is broke. Put the headers on now, it shouldn't ruin them. Like Redvett is saying, fix it before you start. Craig

    Worth restoring????????

They are ALL worth restoring Randy, If you want to drive it to work on Monday, no. If you want to try to flip it for big $$, no. If you like the car and want to own it, by all means yes. I bought mine for next to nothing in better shape than you are describing. If you can do most of the work...

    Movie debut

Jack Nicholson drove a '78 Silver Anniv. Special on the beach in Terms of Endearment, sitting on the roof, steering with his feet til Shirley Maclaine jammed on the brakes and pitched him out. Not proper Vette driving ettiquette, but still funny! Also Mark Wahlberg had a red '77 in Boogie...

    Clogged Brake Line?

I've heard that's what happens when DOT 3 and DOT 5 get mixed together, is there any chance that happened?

    L81 does good

Congrats Ken! Always good to hear a C3 (especially an 81) do good at a show. Tom, I understand what you're saying too. I like to go to the shows just to be there. I know I'm not going home with a trophy, I'm just there to be with the other members of our club. One show I went to last year...

    Cheap power for '77 Vette

Yes, yes, and probably no. There is only one camshaft in an SBC 350. You may be thinking of the Acura with the overhead cams, not the same. Read the other posts on here about adjusting rockers, if you change the cam, that's in your future. Not like an old Ford where 4 bolts holds the whole set...

    Hi all :-)

Hey Lori, It HAS been forever! Last year I was in 2 parades and 5 shows, it only rained on the parade in my town. This year so far, that's the only event where it didn't rain. I got carpeting and seats from Willcox - very happy with both. At least the inside of my car looks respectable! I got...

    Chrome Trim Oxidation?

The 81's had all the window trim painted flat black, as well as the rocker trim blacked out.

Performer RPM intake and CAM question?

Dan, Be careful here. The camshaft is not just a bolt on accessory. If you put in a cam with more lift, you should have the heads to take it. You're also increasing the volume through the engine and should consider bigger pipes to take it away. Putting a new bigger cam in an older engine...

Motor Blown! Rebuild or Crate It?

As much as I'm a 'rebuild it' kind of guy, I'd have to advise against it this time. Rebuilding is great for tired engines lacking compression due to worn rings or smooth cams, but not for one that had an explosion in it. It sounds like if you threw a rod, you probably weren't babying the car...

    Power Door Locks

NO!!! They look the same, but they are NOT the same. You need the ones that say 'lock' on them. I tried the other ones and they didn't work, I got the proper switch and everything was fine. Good luck. Craig

    Catalytic Converter

That's the same I hear too. When I got classic plates and got it inspected the first time, I thought I would have to pay for an 'exempt' sticker as well. The mechanic told me they aren't exepmt, they aren't even in the system. Also, PA isn't complete emissions testing, only about 20 counties (of...
