    ...the first Callaway C6

She loves the Cayenne, although the gas prices are forcing her to keep her foot out of it. It's amazing how quick it is when you consider it weighs over 6000 lbs, but it gets pretty thirsty when you're exercising it. :ugh Every once in a while some guy will pull up next to her at a stop light...

    ...the first Callaway C6

I can relate. Porsche and Corvette live in harmony here also, but my wife is the big Porsche fan. She had a 1996 911 TT, and we sold it and bought her a Cayenne Turbo. :D

    ...the first Callaway C6

Rats, I thought the video was going to be that OTHER turbo you have... :D Beautiful 911, though. Very cool!

    ...from the same bygone era

Ugh - that front end treatment always reminds me of the car from National Lampoon's Vacation.

Trailer/Hauler (Callaway) Anyone have experience w/ these?

If you're going to go to that much expense to build something like this, why would you leave it open?

Callaway pictures w/in> feel free to add some to the thread

Beautiful! I've been looking for better shots of that car. The one shot on their website isn't very good. Thanks for posting!

    Anniversary time...

It's official, it's not going to happen. I came home from a show today and got the hard sell to take the family to Disney World this summer. Not so bad, we have great time on our family vacations. Plus, the kids are getting older, so the family vacations don't come around as much anymore - but...

I even showed her your video. :D

    Anniversary time...

So can we interpret this to mean that your 3rd anniversary was spent buying a car for yourself? I don't think I could get away with that, even for a Callaway. I can't even talk my wife into going to the Art and the Automobile show, which happens to fall on our anniversary. :mad

Complete, never installed 100+ package for auction -

I'm pretty sure SurfnSun did. I think it was his avatar for a while.

    Jonstr, check this out...

Yep, I've got a couple of those sets (the set also includes Speedster 001 and a yellow Aerobody '91). I think it was either Brangeta or SurfnSun that first pointed them out to me. They pop up on ebay pretty frequently. The original owners name is on the back of the card (just in case the colors...

    ...most powerful what?????

You're correct. Pre-1972, manufacturers quoted SAE gross HP, which was done using a bare engine with no accessories and not very realistic. Post 1972 they were required to quote SAE net HP, which was tested on the engine as the motor was installed in the car (with accessories), and was always...

    ...most powerful what?????

I hate getting sucked into these debates, but I'm bored... I don't get the position that the question is being asked from. Is this a question of who gets the most flat-out horsepower? I'm sure there are a couple of Corvette-bodied top fuel drag cars out there that generate a few more HP than...

Disclosure time...who signed up for Certification?

As long as you brought up Bloomington Gold... ...any news on the judging of Aerobody cars or Speedsters? :upthumbs

One of my favorites, courtesy of Andy Bolig of CE magazine. And no, that's not me in it, just in case anyone was confused. :L

News: Callaway Owners Group web-info updates...

Are we all supposed to register with this new system, or only if we haven't registered before?

    *Callaway Corvettes For Sale Thread*

I don't think that's a 'for sale' page. It looks more like part of a tribute site. Plus, the text description doesn't sound like an owner: "There is only one of these Calloway Sledgehammer Corvette cars at the moment that I know of." I'm guessing the owner would not only know for sure it was...

Question: Should we do a COG brick at NCM?

Sounds like it was ugly. I really wasn't fishing for the details, I was just wondering if the options were really limited to a brick, a bench, or something really huge. If so, there is a huge gap between there and really big $$ donations they are looking for. That's unfortunate. It seems like...

Question: Should we do a COG brick at NCM?

I find it hard to comment on whether or not we should pursue something without knowing what we could pursue. Personally, I would love to see some COG/Callaway "thing" at the NCM. AS I've said before, the Callaways are such a unique piece of history, they should absolutely be represented at the...

Question: What is the most erroneous claim you have ever heard about your car??

Took the Speedster to a little show for fun here locally a few weeks back. As I was pulling in I passed a guy and girl walking together, and overheard her ask him what it was. His reply? "That's just one of those old body kits a guy named Callaway used to do for Corvettes.'
