I know this stuff can be frustrating. I'm hoping that KS keeps records back that far. When I bought my 58, my 56 and my 57 (all in FL) I wrote Tallahassee for a "body file" and received all info available for each vehicle. Unfortunately FL (like quite a few other states now) only keeps records...
This goes back a coupla years but I just figgered out how to link it here...

Project Creep Continues
(John - that title's for you!) Finally managed to mount this gem on the Garage Mahal wall today: Got it while building was going on but never have found the time to put it up. I did test it today and it went "ding ding ding" just like it should! Now I gotta pipe the...
I'm looking for the paint "offset" formula for the "blue" stripes & coves of the 56 Sebring race cars
(Like this baby...)
GM also used this color on the 57 race cars, too.
Well, I finally did something - I had a special guest vehicle grace my garage in May. Anybody recognize this nifty Corvette?
(I've tried to upload a short video but can't seem to get it to work...maybe later.)
OK, first, the side curtains had a vent wing at the front. On would push the vent wing open and reach in to grab the door latch ball. The only GM built 53s (and 54/5s for that matter) that had an outside door handle or button were Styling/Show cars. As for locking, I can't recall - I'll leave...
Well...this is what was delivered with the car...I suppose I could transfer it but I guess it's more for the owner who wants all the original documentation.
I happened to have kept my VHS/DVD player/recorder; betcha you could get a VHS player real cheap at a local thrift store...:chuckle
Maybe a nice Holiday present for a friend with a 97? (Hey, it's also a good informative video - and most of it applies to the next few years' C5s as well!)
Many moons ago in college (Charlotte, NC) I owned a 57 Nomad with a 6 cyl - 3 spd. Only one with that combo I've ever seen (over the years I've seen 2 other 6 bangers, both with auto). It was a Calif car (LA assy) with the 1 pc bumper. Had the "deluxe" heater but it had a block-off plate over...
Got both - battery cut-off (thumbscrew type), and two smoke detectors in the garage (wired into the house detectors).
Don't want no car-b-ques here! :eek
Mike,
Thanks for the gauge tip!
If you browse back in this forum you'll find my original thread about the Motorhead Lounge - my garage build starting in 2007 (and continuing to this day). My big splurge: a Rotary 10000lb 2-post in-ground lift! I just got tired of doing everything on my back...
I have a Coats 20/20 in my garage! By any chance do you have any spare parts or a manual? (I need the air gauge - mine was busted long ago!)
I also have a Hunter Tune-In on-the-car wheel balancer that's taking some practice to master! The old bubble balancer is much easier but not the world's...
