The Motorhead Lounge gets one step closer!
I've been waiting for this to arrive for over a year. ;squint: My wife gave me a nice clock of the early Corvette logo two years ago; I brought it over to my local sign shop for a "modification" and here (finally) is the result! (They had it so long...
Here it is, over a year later and while I now have the "Garage Mahal" (according to my wife) for the car - aka The Motorhead Lounge - I'm still looking for #3143 and have #2982 to trade... :ugh
Yes, I am!
And here's why:
That's one spiffy unit. It even came with the wheel/handle option and extra sticks! The next time I'm going by Harbor Freight I'll buy a welding helmet and start havin' fun!:cool
Well, the story isn't really over...yet. I still have quite a bit to do in the garage - I just need to finish the main house items before my assigned deadline (the wife's 50th birthday August 23!). Her craft studio cabinets are in (sans a pile of shelves), the new kitchen cabinets are built and...
This was a great moment; after too long, the 57 returned to inside storage (not like it's ever been 'rode hard and put away wet' or anything like that in 51 years :L).
My lovely wife was kind enough to take the photos.
And yes, after 51 years the car isn't housebroken - the rear main seal...
John,
It's "taken' a lickin' and kept on tickin'" for about 24 years! :bang I built that workbench just after we built this house with "spare" 2x4s leftover from construction. Someday I plan to build one similar to a friend's in Tampa - 3 layers of 3/4" MDF offset so a section can be pulled...
Well, we finally (after 16 months!) passed our final inspections!!
Here's a pic of what the place looks like now that the new sod and landscaping has been installed:
Just for a little comparison, here's a pic of the house before we started:
There's still a bunch 'o stuff to do inside...
So...ya think there's enough clearance under the lift?
A quote from all too long ago (and a coupla pages back):
Actually, I've given him [Dave, the architect and my good friend] the singular distinction of having his 04 coupe as the first "passenger" on my lift. He then replied "so it'll be...
Actually John, I saw 'em too. I then opened another tab and clicked on the address of one of my pics, then came back to this site and hit "refresh". Now it all seems to be working. I dunno why it's doing that - I think it did it before.
Lessee if this'll work...
The final rail for the spiral...
Since all our Christmas decorations were still in storage my warped sense of humor got the better of me; I found the last $2 string of lights at Home Depot along with the only extension cord not in use somewhere else and did this:
Had I been able to buy another string (and found another...
OK, somebody'll be PO'd since I did this instead of their tax return but...:booty
I've always loved the old gooseneck lights used on gas stations of old. I found a company that makes them in powdercoated aluminum; the same company that made 'em in porcelain 80+ years ago (Spero). These are...
OK, I'm still alive and the place continues towards completion. On Thursday my friend (and architect) inaugurated the lift when we installed a CAGS eliminator on his 04 coupe. (Pics to come.) It took longer to get the car positioned right and up than to install the part!
More stuff: there's...
Just caught this thread. My garage height at the outside ceiling is just under 16'. 'sputes such as yours would be no problem. I also purchased Wayne Dalton commercial roll up (like an old windowshade) doors that are Miami-Dade wind rated for 130mph. I didn't spring the $750 each :eek for their...
We now return you to the Motorhead lounge.
When we last saw it, a red spiral stair had been installed. The following appeared one recent (and verry long) Saturday:
(Note: the above was taken upon completion at about 3:45 Sunday morning!)
Last Saturday the buffer came out and it cleaned...
