It could be the rear end gears also. Does the whine start around the 35-40mph mark and progressively get louder and higher pitched the faster you go? When you let off the gas it stops because the gears are not forced together.
I must say I expected to get this type of response. The bottom line is I can see the road much better than I was able to with the OEM bulbs. I have never been "flashed" for lights that are to bright. During my daily commute I get passed by other drivers that have done the same "cheap"...
I purchased two HID lights to replace the stock bulbs in the headlights and the fog lights. They are the new slim digital ballasts and they were around $60 each. I did have to purchase the resistor for $25 to fix the buckets up/down issue. So for about $145 total I have much better lights I...
I would also check the shocks. A weak left rear shock when romped on will make the rear feel loose and pull you to the left. I had the right rear go out on me and that's what it felt like until I got it replaced.
Being here at Funfest and going to some of the tech seminars this was lightly discussed. One thing that was mentioned to help was using top tier gas and running a few bottles of 20oz techron plus through the car. This will help clean the engine and reduce the noise.

I did a search for dual zone and found a bunch. Here's another one...
I know this is a little off topic of your post but most of the issues you listed are very easily fixed and don't cost that much either. First thing pull the codes and and see whats been going on. Then clear them for future checking.
If you do a search on here for ABS traction control you will...
I change my oil when ever the oil life meter gets around the 20% mark and that's usually around the 8k mark and I've never been low on oil at the change. I cant comment on the oil pan and gasket but its not common for the LS1 to loose oil.
Corroded grounds are common on the C5 so they would be...
GM makes a great tar remover sorry I dont have the part # atm. Another product that I bet you have at home already that works very well is WD-40. I've used it many times w/o issues you just have to wash and wax the area again but thats true with any tar remover.
I've never used a Vararam but I know many that have a love them. I'm using a SLP black wing and like it. I didn't notice much of a performance increase but after seeing how restrictive the stock air box is anything has to be better.
I agree 100% I have a hand held tuner and while it did let me change some of the things (shift speed, turn off TM, adjust fan on off temps etc) and give me a "performance tune" it wasn't what I had hoped for.
Is your car an A4 or manual? If its an A4 you will see big performance increase with a lower gear ratio and tranny tune to increase shift speed and stiffness. Its not a HP increase but it will give you some nice seat-of-the-pants performance.
Depending on your budget you can always...
Shaweet!!! This gives a whole new meaning to "dumping the clutch".
I hope this feature keeps more of these wonderful cars on the road and a way from telephone poles when those young wealthy kids find the keys to Dad's car when he is out of town.
