eboch, I believe the stock pads on the Z06 are semi-metallic which I've been told can cause squeaking. The brakes on my Z06 do the same thing. The Hawk HPS pads are a carbon compound that do not use metallic materials so maybe that will stop the squeaking.
I only have 30k miles on my Z06...
I can't quite picture what you're saying JohnZ since I haven't started the repair or removed the leaking unit. The replacement unit was shipped yesterday and will arrive next Tuesday. Thanks for the info though because I was thinking the gasket went between the cam ring and the sending unit...
When I purchased the '66 a year ago, the seller shipped all paperwork and a 1966 manual with the car. The manual says to remove the spare tire carrier and the rest can be accomplished without having to remove the tank. It did say you had to remove the tank if it was the optional 36 gal tank...
I have a 1966 coupe w/327 and have no experience working with gas tanks. I noticed gas dripping from the bottom of the tank. When I jacked up the rear end I noticed the gas was dripping from a prong protruding from the center of a round snap ring. The prong has a rubber gasket surrounding a...
I've been using Zaino polish on the glass for the past few years and have not had any problems with windshield wiper function. It's like having Rain-X on the windshield when it's raining...you don't need to use the wipers! I had heard that Rain-X will eat away at the rubber on the wiper blades...
It's getting close to August, have you made a decision yet?
I'll throw another wrench at you...the C5 Z06 came in hardtop only.
You're going to be happy whichever way you decide to go. Good luck!
Cleaned the ground under the battery and still no luck. But I have the cleanest battery tray around! :thumb
Looks like the next step is to contact Brandon at absfixer to let him know my ECBM is enroute to him.
Thanks again for all your help.
Brian
Thanks for the tip Jane Ann. I'll send him a PM first.
I can't tell you how many times I've removed the key and those darn messages keep on popping back up. In the beginning that seemed to work but it's gotten to the point where they just stay on. I pulled up all the codes on the DIC and...
Yep. There were actually 4 codes that popped up and I deleted all of them. Restarted the car and got the 3 service messages. Checked the codes again and only C1214HC appeared. I'm going to check/clean the grounds up front on the frame today. I've read on CAC that it's possible it may be a...
Recently I've been getting 3 messages pop up on the DIC....Service Traction Control, Service Active Handling, and Service ABS. Up until yesterday, whenever I turned the ignition off and restarted the message would go away. Now it's staying on. I pulled the code and got C1214 HC. There were...
Uh, you've posted pics of your "nurses" in the past. I think you better have a mechanic check the tire pressure. One other thing, isn't your garage heated? :thumb
Thanks everyone. I kept the rims stock sized just like I did my '63 swc when I was 17 yrs old. Color combination is identical too. Dang, was that really 43 yrs ago? ;LOL
Dang, I thought I did last night. I must have learning disabilities re: posting photos. ;LOL I'm giving it another try but nothing is happening. I think the file is too large and I don't know how to reduce it. Going to ask my son how do to that. Will post as-soon-as I can.
I've had my '66 cpe for almost a year now and haven't changed a thing except to add American Racing Torque Thrust's and Michelin radials to it. Knock-offs have been stored in the garage. All other repairs have been OEM parts.
I've done the same thing with my C5. Sometimes you just have to open'er up to clear out the cobwebs in the 'ole carb. Oh wait, there isn't one, is there? :boogie
That rendering resembles the '08 Spectre Werles GTR with its sharp lines and especially the front end fascia/headlights. Like Killain said, whoever designed the new Camaro should stay away from designing the C7 Corvette. I'm not a fan of the sharp lines of the Camaro or the above rendering...
