Which would you purchase, 03 or 04

    I bought an '03, then again, the '04s weren't offered yet. :L

Just how much whould I be driving this car?

I bought my Z06 in '03 and in the next two years only added 5,000 miles on it. Less driving than what you're doing. In '05 I was in the hospital for 32 days, the first week in critical condition but I was medically sedated so didn't know what was going on. When I came to I made up my mind to...

Dumb Question #3: Are red 'vettes cop magnets?

The color, Quicksilver, has no bearing on radar. I have stopped a few Corvette's of that color using radar. K band, laser, they all pick up Corvette's of that color. Radar does not discriminate. :cool

What is it with Mustang guys?

Occasionally I will urge myself to take on a challenge but it doesn't happen very often. The cars that challenge are mostly the Mercedes 500 AMG series. Only had one run-in with a Mustang GT. The Z06 is much faster. That's all I have to say.

    Rear License Plate Install

Hey guys! I've got 4 license plate screws holding my rear license plate to the rear fascia and then I snapped the plastic frame back into place. This way makes it harder for any theft of your rear plate. Oh yeah (I'm editing) the pop in fasteners for the screws were there when I bought the car.

    My "new" baby.

Mac, I don't have the pics yet but I can give you a driving review of it. After receiving instructions from RestoCreations on how to tighten up the play in the steering wheel the car drives really good. The car turns heads wherever I drive it. It's not as steering responsive as the Z06 (hey...

    My "new" baby.

Hi Jane Ann, The '66 was purchased sight unseen from a seller in Texas. I did view photos on the internet though and after talking to him for a few days I had a really good feeling he was an honest man. I bought the car on June 17th and it was picked up and delivered to CA on....get this...

    Cheap Z06s

I've seen a few '97 C5's selling for $15,000 but nothing as low as you're saying. Last year my '03 was worth $38,000 and in just over a year the price has dropped to $29,000. It kind of floored me that its value could drop that much, that quickly. Could be that there are too many C5's out on...

    Ecklers

I've heard similiar stories about Eckler's but so far I haven't had a problem with them. I will keep your story in mind when ordering from them in the future.

How much to you do on your Corvette?

I try to do everything myself. If I don't have the knowledge to do it I'll check the repair manuals and if it's a job that's too big for me I'll seek help. I don't do any body work or paint.

    67 Restoration Pics

Gorgeous '67 roadster and '03 Anniv Ed! I have to agree with a previous commentor that you should get out there and drive the '67. I was hospitalized for 32 days, 1 week in critical condition, back in 2005 and was told "If you don't drive it, SOMEBODY else will". I now drive my '03 Z06 more...

    My "new" baby.

Thanks twiget and firstgear, I've waited 40 yrs to buy another mid-year. I was 19 and uninformed back in 1969 when I sold my swc. That mistake will not happen again.

Here's a recent pic of my '66. Sorry it isn't in a better setting, I was too eager to show it.

    Question: One more question.

RestoCreations, I couldn't wait until tomorrow and went out and did what you suggested. Voila'!! Looking at all the other areas of the steering column it appears that everything has been replaced with new parts, rag joint too. I looked underneath the front end and it appears that all the...

    Question: One more question.

RestoCreations, Thanks again for the info. I didn't have a chance to look at it today because my wife and I were entertaining our grandchildren. I don't remember me being that rambunctious when I was their age. :W I'll check it out on Saturday and get back to you with news of my adventures...

    Question: One more question.

Having just purchased a '66 coupe I noticed that the steering wheel has some play in it. When driving, I can turn the steering wheel from left to right about 3" and the car continues to go straight without any response. Is this normal? What will it take to repair it? There are no power...
