    Frozen C5

I just checked in on mine, still hiding under cover in the garage. Well, I think that's my car under there, all I see is the bottom part of the tires. ;) My black Saturn almost looks silver from all of the salt, that is enough to keep me satisfied with my decision to keep my Corvette off the...

    Frozen C5

I was out driving around the other night and much to my surprise, I saw a C5. It was only 9 degrees, and while there wasn't any snow on the roads, there was plenty of salt. It almost inspired me to take mine out of hibernation, but I think I'll hold off until after a few good rain storms to...

    Show Off Those Silver C5's

Silver is awesome, but my first choice of C5 color is navy blue metallic (with black leather, of course) Not the best picture, but it's all that I have: Unfortunately, this is what it looks like right now:

    What's your daily driver?

It depends on the day My daily driver is one of these... (terrible picture quality) On the left is my '05 Saturn VUE (my beater), on the right is my '99 Saturn SC2 with over 102,000 miles and still looking/running like new. (It even has completely original brakes :D)

    Window Valet help needed!!!!!!!!!

I just think it's cool to freak people out in the parking lot and put my windows down as I walk up to the car. Or close the windows as I'm exiting. Look ma, no hands! ;) Yes, I'm easily amused. With the money I'm shelling out for the loan and insurance, I have to find some humor to go along...

    Weird thing happened

No advice on the bump or leak, but I'm with 6 shooter, you should be leaving the car in gear. Mainly as a backup in the event that your parking brake fails. Also, the owner's manual (at least for the 2001) specifically states to put it in reverse and pull the parking brake prior to turning off...

The PIN should be the last 4 digits of the serial number.

Put It Away for the Winter??

Daily Driver. Unless he has the K.I.T.T. option (think Knight Rider), then it could be the designated driver. :D

    Window Valet question

I agree! It's a bit expensive, but very handy to have. Especially on those days when I park too close to myself. :D My only complaint is that I have the constant urge to plug it into one of my other cars to see if it will work. My theory is that once it's programmed with the C5, it should...

Put It Away for the Winter??

This will be the first winter with my C5, and it will be put away. I have no desire to subject my Corvette to the crazy amount of salt that Ohio drops on the road. I have washed my Saturn coupe in 33 degree temps before, as long as it doesn't freeze when it leaves the hose, I don't care. All...

A place for my spare roof

All you really need is a couple short pieces of 2x4. Use a 1/2" bit to drill shallow holes near the edge and then secure them to the wall, with the holes 39" apart. At the top, you just need something simple to keep it from falling over. There's nothing to it.

A place for my spare roof

There are holes in the base for the pins, so the bottom isn't going anywhere. As for the top, the weight is enough to keep it from falling over if it's bumped. I thought about a wall mount system, but I didn't want it in the garage, and I have more than enough floor space in the basement. It...

A place for my spare roof

My Corvette came with the dual roof option, which is nice, but it left me with the constant need to store one of the panels. I brought my C5 home in April and the silver top has been on 99% of the time, so the glass top has just been taking up room in the house. I recently did some remodeling...

    Dale Jr.

You are referring to the TV show called Fastlane, awesome show that was on Fox a couple years ago, but they canceled it. The show was pretty far fetched, but it had a lot of cool cars in it and some good special effects. There are still repeats on a couple stations, G4 is one of them, can't...

    The Escort (Passport) SR7 Incident

Being a 31 year old C5 owner, I hear all sorts of things from my friends, especially considering I'm single and have two other cars. The other two are both Saturns, and one of them, the 8 year old one, is sitting in a garage at my parent's house under cover. I take a lot of heat for that...

    "cure for Rain-X"

The secret to removing the haze after application is a few drops of water and a final wipedown, or just use a slightly damp cloth. My procedure is as follows (for my Saturns, my Corvette doesn't go out in the rain): 1. Fold up paper towel, squirt it with Rain-X, apply to driver side of...

    Looks good, sharp!

We're both right, and wrong ;) I had to go check, because I know it's in the windshield. It's actually a two piece, one part in the windshield, one part in the rear window.

    Looks good, sharp!

I'll see what I can do, I have run into him the last two Tuesday nights up in Solon (Ohio) at a cruise in, so I'm sure I'll see him up there again. This isn't his car, it's not a Z, and it isn't the best quality, but it works (thanks Google): http://www.jenalabs.com/pages/C5.html

    Looks good, sharp!

Agreed, the whole back end in black just doesn't look right. Beyond that, the car looks awesome, well, except for the antenna. Why don't the Z06, hardtops and verts have the windshield antenna like the coupe? There is a silver Z in my area with the lower fascia painted and it really looks...

Post a photo of your C5

A two for one shot? Is that a white C5 reflection in the bumper?
