Dec. 2008: It's time for Americans to take their blinders off

I think the management needs to lead by taking a pay cut. The UAW here took a pay cut of 40%. Now you are asking them to take another. The top exes are all making over 10M and we are asking an employee making 36K to take another pay cut while the top management take home millions. They say they...

That's about the same as mine did. Mine opened at lower temps after the initial time and I watched the other day and it closed at 215* and opened at 205*. I am more at ease with it operating at 215* than 238*. Ken

You can do it with the hood open. That is the easiest. It is between 1 & 3 cylinder. I am sure it would be a lot harder from under the car.

It is a ten minute job. I had everything ready to go and just pulled the old out and pluged the new in with my other hand. A small top off on the radiator and done. Make sure you use an anti seize on the threads. Mine did close at a lower temp in the car 211*. Yours may too.

You can use the mid america on at 200* off 185*. However if you run a 190* thermostat it may never turn off. If you are running a 180* thermostat it would be just fine.:beer

This is whats is in mine. If you go to the acdelcopatrs link on my last post you can cross ref the tfs4 and you will get the d1855b part as a cross ref. If you try to get one for a corvette you will have the 238* again.

Try your chevy dealer. Tell them you need it for an 89 camaro 350 CI. Check the temps for open and close. I'll see if I can cross ref.

A GM tech gave me that number. I know there has been some mergers. I think they are all made by the same company Standard I believe. The one I have works like a Swiss er American clock. I cleaned out from in front of the radiator and it very seldom turns on. Only at long redlights with high...

TS85 is the gm # I was after Advance Auto cross refed to fs4 or tfs4.The box has both numbers on it. Closes at 211* Which starts the fan. Turns fan off at 200*. This aprox temps. I paid 14.95 I think. It did what I wanted so it was worth it. Make sure you put anti cease on it. There was a...
