Since I've decided not to put the Shark back on the road until spring, I'm thinking maybe I'll switch over to sidepipes, if I can find a good deal.
I'm trying to figure out something, though. Hooker's website says that I need a new alternator bracket, to mount the alternator on the right side...
I didn't have to wait, but they told me they had just taken one out of the mold, so if they didn't have one ready to go, I guess it might take a little bit for them to make one.
The hood looked as good as the rest of the glass on the car. I'm sure it would take more to make it perfect, but I...
Wouldn't the correct motor mounts be better? I mean, it seems likely that there will be issues with alignment of various parts if the engine is not in the correct position...

There are pictures of the pipes in Mid-America's catalog (also on their website). It's part number 603-840. I can take a picture from behind the car if you want to see the mufflers, installed. I don't think I can really get pictures of the installed pipes, since they're sort of under my car...
I looked through my old reciepts, and found that I originally paid about $700 for all this, so I'm going to tentatively set the price at $500. Of course, I like to haggle, so maybe you can get me to lower that a bit, or offer me something interesting in trade to lower the price...

I'd agree with Jack. Just get a Q-Jet that is not computerized. Either get on off an earlier Corvette, or get a performance one like Edelbrock sells.

I'm seriously thinking of converting to sidepipes, so I want to find out if there is anyone who might be interested in purchasing my current exhaust system.
I have dual stainless 2.5" pipes from Mid-America. These will bolt onto any C3 Corvette. They flow into stainless Dynomax Ultra-Flow...
255-70 is too large. 255-60 is the right size, and definitely fits. The 70-series tire (in addition to making the speedometer read wrong) has a taller sidewall (7.03" vs. 6.02"), which will allow more "bulge," effectively making the clearance smaller. I don't know whether you are actually...
Forced induction generally works better on low-compression engines. Your 10:1 compression ratio means that you would only be able to run a tiny amount of boost without detonation, and it really wouldn't be worth the trouble. To get the best benefit from a turbocharger or supercharger, your...
The TH350 and the TH400 are both 3-speed automatics.
The 4L80E is a 4-speed that is based on the TH400 design, but it is a separate transmission and is only used in trucks.

Original quote was $650. Final price was $350. But the body shop manager is a friend of mine, so that price may not be indicative of what he'd charge someone else...
That's also for three colors, and a pinstripe on each side of the stinger, so if someone wanted just a basic paint job, the...
The bore diameter of the cylinder may not be the same as with your original master cylinder. If so, the volume of fluid that is displaced will be different. Since modern brakes tend to use smaller bores, that means less fluid, and the possibility of not fully actuating the calipers.
Will your...
Okay, another "riddle me this" topic:
Why is there such an issue of exhaust backpressure? On the one hand, too little backpressure hurts your low-end torque, and on the other, too much hurts your top-end power. Any setup you go with seems to be a trade-off, with one end losing out in favor of...
