Steve, Your trans problem almost sounds like a clogged filter. Been changed lately? Either that or an internal seal leak, probably around the high gear clutch pack actuator.
I've seen your 60 iin person last month in Mystic, and I have to say it looks like it came from the factory that way. Very sanitary build.
Good luck with the suspension softening.
You can use it with the headphone jack. Turn your radio to a regular station. Set the volume level to a comfortable range. Then, tune to the FM modulator's frequency, start with the MP3 player volume low and work up to a level that is the same as the afore mentioned radio volume.
If you are sure it's a drip from somewhere under the dash, pull out you glovebox and have someone hose down the windshield and wiper. You should be able to spot where the water is coming from.
I've got the same problem. My windshield gasket is dryrotted and the water leaks in at the corners.
It's very easy to put the lower hose on backwards. If installed incorrectly, it's VERY close to the belt. If installed correctly, you should have plenty of clearance.
I did the same thing last time I replaced the hose......
I believe the current replacement filter AC Delco sells is a bit larger in diameter and is unfunished metal in color. If I remember correctly, it won't fit into the stock fuel filter retaining clamp.
I've been lurking for quite a while lately. Not a lot of Vette stuff going on over here. I just drive it a lot, but don't have the time to do any upgrades or anything else for that matter. House is coming along, but not near finished yet. It's keeping me real busy.
I'm like Barry... I've got this thing about originallity, even if I take a few other liberties..... And like, Barry, I plan on keeping my PIA Holley.
Barry, a few things to check... Could be the secondaries hanging open a bit, or even the primaries. This would be caused by either...
Not sure why I didn't run into that problem. Mine fit fine without any interferance issues with the side cover.
It fits well with both the 64 stock side cover as well as the Classic Air side cover.
Could it be because your side panels have the vent operators in them (67 only)?
Yeah, I was pretty amazed when mine came back too. Much better than the original. Not sure about yours, but with my wimpy sidepipes, I can still hear it when I'm cruising.
Wow Barry,
I just got thru looking at the latest pics on your website. Beautiful work on the 78 so far. The engine looks brand new. You are really getting the hang of all this restoration and mechanical work. Almost can't believe it's the same guy from a year ago.... Keep up the good work.
To condense the last 2 posts...... The '461 manifold was used on 64 365 hp (L76) engines and 65 365 hp (L76) and 350 hp (L79) engines. All three engines used the 2818 series Holley carb.
