    painting motor parts?

Barry, I'm running a 135A unit I got on ebay. About $80 if I remember. Plugs right in. I also changed to a solid state external regulator. $9.95 at J.C. Whitney. Jack, I was just flaming a bit. My point to people in similar situations was to point out that the GM engineers worked long and...

    painting motor parts?

You guys are killing me here........ From personal experience, I'll testify that my car, 327/365, with A/C running, on the hottest days (95+) has never gone over 210*. Even on the long trip to Carlisle, caught in stop and go (mostly stop) traffic for an hour. At cruising speed it just barely...

    painting motor parts?

I had my intake and exhausts reskinned... The process is a closely guarded "secret", but I believe the aluminum parts are tumbled in a barrel with some sort of media, like you would do to polish rocks. Really came out looking like a new casting. He may respray them with a molten aluminum, but...

    painting motor parts?

Hey Barry, since you are going to remove the intake anyway, how about trying some aluminum wheel cleaner first. The stuff you spray on and hose off. You'd need the stuff for real aluminum wheels, not the universal spray stuff. That spray takes off everything, and I'm sure you know how...

    Need help finding proper connector

    Bob, try LICS. Catalog 23, section 5, part # 46A. $9.50 each. I think that's what you want. http://www.licorvette.com/catalog23.htm

Antenna - fully retract or not?

Wow, that was quick..... I wasn't sure if you have a power antenna or not. The non-power antenna sticks up about a foot when fully retracted. Not sure about the power one.

The longest ebay C2 ad ever....

Based on the length of the ad, and all the information they are trying to make reference to (i.e grouping the "new" GS with the old ones), I would imagine that the reserve is quite high. Maybe as high as 6 figures.

    Local C2's around town

Believe me, their club or forum participation really isn't an issue. I can tell these guys enjoy their cars as much as I do. It would just be nice to be able to compare notes, etc... with someone local once in a while. (plus, these guys don't know what they are missing).

    Local C2's around town

Way cool Bob. Thanks. Now if I can figure out a way to throw it in their cars as they are going the opposite direction....... maybe fold it into a paper airplane........ Or, I can just drive my car more. We've been living with friends the last 3 weeks as our house is gutted for a remodel...

    Local C2's around town

Up in my neck of the woods, there seem to be quite a few C2's around. Of course, when I see them driving around, I'm usually not in mine. In the past couple of weeks, I've seen a 65/66 Maroon Vert, a 64 Silver vert, a 63 Silver/Blue FI SWC and a Maroon coupe (too fast to identify the year)...

Do you think that is really a matching numbers big block car?

Thanks, I stand corrected (and educated).

Do you think that is really a matching numbers big block car?

Dennis, is the battery location correct? Can't seem to remember if the battery got moved only for A/C or for BB's also.

Do you think that is really a matching numbers big block car?

Didn't BB's have the battery on the driver's side? Also, a close look at the tach shows a 5300 redline (66 300hp). It has an 80lb oil pressure gauge (66 425hp), and the hood support is on the pass side (wrong for a 390hp BB). In my opinion (which could be wrong), this car looks like it was...

    Spare tire, for what?

I had the same dilemma. I found you could change a rear KO on the road with a steel spare by removing the KO adapter, but it doesnt work well for the fronts. I've found the only way to remove a properly installed front KO adapter is to have someone stand on the brake pedal while you loosen the...

    Grand Sport info needed

I built a couple of "hybrid" cars in CT in the past. It was a bit of a PIA to get them registered, tow to Wethersfield, get inspected, tow home, fix failed items, tow back, get new CT VIN. The real problem is that they consider the car's year as the date it was accepted, so if you build a car...

    Carb rebuild

Barry, add it to the list for my visit. I'll walk you through it. For rebuild kits, I have found none better than the Holley kits. Other than the fuel bowl screw paper gaskets, the rest are top quality and correct.

    replace carb?

If you want to got the barry grant route.... 600cfm vacuum secondaries. Could have the same issues with the choke, but due to the construction of the stock SHP air cleaner, I doubt it. Just looked at the site I mentioned on the other forum...... Custom Rebuilt Carbs (...
