Need photo of block casting date

Screws held the date tag to the mold. What you see is the impression they left.

Need photo of block casting date

2 screw castings are there.... That must be the answer. Thanks John.

Need photo of block casting date

It's on the opposite side of the block from the casting number. The date is quite a bit smaller. It is a raised casting like the driver's side casting number. It's between the upper bellhousing bolt boss and the second one down on the pass side just under the distributor. Month: A = Jan, B =...

Good tip, I should have remembered that.

    Fan Clutch

Duh.... you have a new one in your garage. Guess you really didn't need that picture.

    Fan Clutch

Barry, here's a good pick of the back side of mounting flange on the clutch from the website shown above:

    Fan Clutch

Sounds like you have the right ones. The bolts go through a flange on the clutch assembly, through the pulley and into a threaded flange in the waterpump shaft. The center of the waterpump shaft protrudes through the pulley and into a recess in the clutch shaft. This is where it usually gets...

    C1 Rear axle rebound straps

I believe that was Kyle Busch (sp?) in the #5 car. I think he downshifted too early and hopped the rear.

    Fan Clutch

This is a stupid question, but I have to ask.... You did remove the bolts that thread into the waterpump, right? Not the ones that hold the fan blade to the clutch. If so, then it's just stuck on the waterpump shaft. Just have to keep wiggling until it comes off. As you said, be careful it...

cleaning aluminum intake and valve covers

Barry, If you are real careful, you may want to try some aluminum wheel cleaner on the manifold. It may take off the 365 decal, so I wouldn't suggest it for the valve covers. Just be sure to cover your new paint job before you start spraying or rinsing the stuff off. An old toothbrush helps...

Rear Wheel Bearing Service - C2

Steve, Bairs did mine (and VNV's). Pretty quick turnaround and excellent work.

So, what's new today you ask?

Good thing you didn't take it to Barry's body man..... Probably get it back next May. That's a fast shop. Not a lot of those around these days. I just got on a 2 year waiting list to get my body work and paint done. It will probably take that long to save up enough for the job.

So, what's new today you ask?

Holy cr*p Bob!!! Aren't you cutting it a little close for Carlisle? (no pun intended).

Intake not fitting- rebuilt engine, Help!!

If the block was decked and/or the heads shaved, the manifold will have to be machined a little also. Talk to your engine builder to find out what he did.

    C2 Radio conversion review

I installed these on a whim yesterday.... I was planning a replacement storage cover, then mounting the enclosures under it so I can recoup a little storage room, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Probably after Carlisle. Mrs. Subfixer is starting to get a little antsy...... I can't...

this should be an interesting development.......

Barry, I agree, it's GD hot here too. We'll get together and discuss this in Carlisle and you'll be able to see how relatively easy the install is as long as you have all the right parts. Like I tell everyone else... It's just nuts and bolts. Jack already has me booked for some work on his...

    C2 Radio conversion review

Probably some sort of velcro setup. Or maybe some sort of hook over the rear lip of the jack cover. Haven't secured them yet. Since they are in a convertible, they can't go very far. They will either hit the back of the seats or the deck lid. There's no way to get them into the driver...
