    I have a 383 and the flywheel is balanced with the crank and rods as a complete assembly. Perhaps that is why I didnt have to balance the flywheel. I had not read of anyone having to balance a flywheel before because of a 5 speed change out.....

    this was my original set up that came out of the car, which wasnt correct to begin with....but what I had to work with...it bolted right up here is the McLeods bell housing.....I got POR15 happy and painted it black....

    I wish I could give you some good advice on the flywheel, clutch and bell housing....in my case I bought from Hurst Drivelines my 5 speed tranny along with a McLeods bellhousing, clutch and pressure plate. All of the mated up nicely.....so I didn't have the bubba stuff to deal with in that area...

    yes and no. the 56-60 will fit those cars, but there are little differences in them, for instance, the hold down brackets on the sides are completely different and not interchangable. The 59-60 brackets are SS and the earlier ones are chrome plated. They are formed differently and hence fit...
