    How much have you spent on restoring your Vette, to date ??

    I bought my 80 at the Corvettes at Carlisle last year, 7 months ago, I put 3000.00 in getting it reliable and mechanical sound, I paid 7500.00 for the car, and it has been the funnest winter I have had in a long time, well as they say "PRICELESS" I fall into the catagory of never could afford a...

    $ bushing installation

    I did mine in a long weekend, if I had to put a time on it, maybe 18 hours. That was with all the cleaning and painting. I never worked on a corvette rear before and it was no big thing, I do have air tools and a press. I did alot of head scratching during paint drying time, but really, not to...

    $ bushing installation

    Heidi, I just did my 80 with all rubber, well worth it! The trailing arms where rusted tight, with the shims almost gone, I just used a Sawzall with a fresh metal blade, I had to cut on both sides of the arm because the bolt was siezed in the bushing. All this after spending hours trying to...

    Top end rebuild

    Blue 82, thanks I'll check it out! Did your car have that 3.73 rear or did you purchase it? How much if you did? Did you use stock ratio rockers, and push rods on those heads. Did it all fit under the hood? Did your headers fit without mods? What kind?:SANTA

    Broken Rear End Bolts

    I bought my bolts from Ecklers, in "kit" form with the rubber cushions, washers and cups, part # 38302, but I'm sure all of the other manufactures of Vette products have them in stock. The price of the kit was 29.99.

    Fuel lines

    I'm getting the car ready for garage life here in PA. but I noticed the fuel lines are leaking after the trailing arm project this summer. I must of nicked them with a pry bar or something, anyhow, I have about a drop every 40 seconds or so coming from the trailing arm area, and what I wanted to...

    I did some more testing, I can pull the headlight switch on to the parking lights, IF, I turn the dimmer down, but as soon as I turn the dimmer to make the dash lights come on the fuse blows. All parking lamps on the outside of the car work. I used a continuity tester to check for power at the...

    Auto 350 question

    Hey thanks for all the help, I did check the seal today, I must replace it, everything else looks fine. I do have one worry though, when you said about marking the drive shaft, and it being 180 out of balance. I have the car torn apart in the rear, and I know I have spun the rear half shaft...

    Auto 350 question

    Can this be done while the trany is in the car, by removing the tailshaft?

    Auto 350 question

    The driveshaft is still in the car, no bolts have been removed. The movement is in the tail shaft / yoke. I can move the drive shaft up and down, and side to side at most a 1/8th of an inch. I first though it was the U joint. I don't think it is the spline/ yoke connection, but the shaft that is...

    Auto 350 question

    I'm replacing all U joints, wheel bearings, and bushings in my 80 Vette, it has become quite a project! I noticed tonite that there is slight movement in the rear of the trany, that I thought before was the front U joint in need of being replaced... so how much play is normal in the rear of this...
