Going to install the new Opti in my 1992 LT-1. While I have everything removed I am doing some serious cleaning. When I put the Opti in, should I insert the spline drive into the opti first and then position it into the case or the opposite scenario? I know the spline only fits in the case one...
Waiting on the new wires to get here. Should be in tomorrow. Going to install the new Opti while I am at it. It will probably be easier to run the new wires with everything exposed anyway. Should be some great practical experience too.
Haha! Got fuel and fire for sure. Just don't want the rest of the car to be ON FIRE! I will retrace my steps on wires. Is the backfire possibly caused by not having the one cylinder connected? If so I will just wait for the new wires before I even try to restart it. I am very leery of fire even...

Before cranking the motor over, should I remove or disable the injectors as well? I pulled the main wire from the opti to the coil and pulled the fuse to the fuel pump. All plugs are out now. Any other steps I should take or precautions at this point?
