Good chance you have a sinking float in 1 or both carbs,If I remember right the carbs have brass floats and can crack over time and get gas logged and sink a bit and run over after shut down causing flooding !

I'll almost bet,The rear bumper reinforcement has been bent,You will probly have to remove the cover to repair or replace the reinforcement.
