I'm gonna 3rd that motion !
Bosch-III injectors thru FIC are the best all-round way to go. They perform, The support from Jon is unbeatable and FIC is the supplier of most replacement injectors for C4 and all Corvette engines. If you look at ANY forum you will see the discussion and although...
Well,
sight of the forest has been lost due to all the trees in the way !
Whether the pump runs or not, or whether there is or isn't injector pulse is for now irrelevant.
Its the starter than is the current issue. Once the starter engages and cranks the engine then IF there is still a...
If that detail comes from a scanner...then its fair to say that its a sensor issue not a mechanical problem.
This can come from dirty electrical connections to the various sensors and their grounds/power source.
1st step in diagnosing ANY eng electrical issue is to be assured of clean grounds...
Mercury switch adjustment ?? 84-87. Different headlite door actuator drive.
The yr models that you guys have listed use a control module, different than the earlier models that used relays and limit switches.
Your problem is in all likelihood the delron bushings that are designed to be wear...
Then that proves that the security system is not totally at fault. Worst case the starter enable relay is sticking. Thats easy to jump and test...when you find it. If you feel adventerous, pull the stuff out of the center console display...and see if you can reach around under the bread box...
There is no reason to believe that you damaged the engine control computer by doing anything that you listed. Sure, its reccomended to d/c the battery to charge it but its not crutial....otherwise we'd see dead cars all over the place from being jumped, or charged and frying the ecms. This is...
Left side Plenum, 2nd runner top bolt from the rear....
It has the pin for mounting or a cable guide IIRC... Easy one to miss since all the other plenum/runner bolts are normal torx or hex, whatever you may have. I swapped all mine to allen and double nutted one longer bolt to replace this one.
I'd sure start with the connections and grounds...often signals that are weak or inconsistent will cause some
odd quasi-alert to appear. These digital displays work on variable resistence, so its not as B/W as it is in the analog world of displays..it might be getting enough of a 'trigger' to...
Probably the best plan...
it actually pensils out pretty easily....
the $350 unit that will go for 100,000 miles
OR a series of $100 units that only last 10-20,000 miles.
Add the labor & down time and its a no brainer. Chances are that a 25 yr old car will not be needing them again if you...
The originals usually go 100K or more depending on driving conditions and habits, and they are considered a wear-part like brake pads and rotors. And, yes, you DO have ABS as an "off-board" diagnostic system by Bosch. Later yrs were "onboard" and could be diagnosed thru flash codes. Early...
yep...
thats a short cut that I figered out as well....spray the tire shine stuff on everything thats rubber, plastic or black and it looks new for a few days until the dust collects...spray off and repeat. I use it on hoses...pretty much everywhere underhood. Aluminum wheel wash on aluminum...
Good Job !
Success is the byproduct of effort & perserverance. I tried to explain to people when I was teaching them about emergency trouble shooting tactics (instant reaction to situations and thinking on your feet) and their personal knowlege base that when they were challanged and afraid...
Every time.
I've written about the C4 wire harness & grounds/connections so many times that I cant bring myself to go thru the details again..
but,
I can assure you that herein lies the problem.
You're heading the right direction.
You found the most likely reason there are other problems...electrical connections. These C4 wire harnesses are junk. Plain & simple. There was some critisism from the NTSB (gov office that oversees domestic auto production) regarding the cheesy wire used in...
Your IAC could be sticking or not working. If the idle stays the same or bumps up slightly when the a/c is turned on the IAC is working...
Mine does the same behavior when stone cold,. but does not rev as high as yours. Mine will go to 1000 and sit for 30 secs on cold start then settle to 600 in...
Sounds to me like you may not have the panel side sections fully seated....a common fault with weatherstrip replacement.
That causes the top to ride too high and off the alignment points. A pillar is easy...so is B pillar rubber. The top panel sides are the easiest of all to make a mistake in...
Almost ALL of the C4 electrical sockets, plugs and connectors are now available thru "Help" products at local auto parts stores. If not there then ask to see the Dorman catalog as Toptech suggest. Worst case go to flea-bay and locate a C4 parts dealer and send them an email asking for the...
Wanted to share this past weekends horror story.......
car was bucking and burping. Died on a country backroad Sunday morning. Had to get towed. I took the filter out and was unable to find a new one in the woods....but I did find a safety clean tank and washed it very well and pretty well...
R goes inside part C to the side and rear, I believe R is there as one end of the mount for thr airfoil thatsits across the open area, with its ends attached at the side of the box by a metal bracket---R that is IIRC....:thumb
I'm confused......
what are you asking for?
the airfoil in the nose area? those mounts?
or the top shroud? inside the radiator shroud? or the lower shroud where it mounts to the frame/chassis? A FSM would have the detail for all of these.
OR
are you trying to remount/replace the airdam?
