My 2000 has that figure and my grandson loves to go for a quick spin now and then. I bought my vert in March of this year with just under 36000 miles and I could not be more pleased. I would echo the advice of others, get the newest, lowest mileage C5 that you can afford and drive the heck out...

I have had the Low Fuel warning when I start up a few times. I am usually on my way to fill up any way but I have noticed that as I drive the gauge will creep back up to about an eighth of a tank by the time I get to the station (about a mile).

It is possible. I bought a flat plastic license plate protecter from a chain auto parts store and it works just fine with the surround that I just received. It was a little tight but it does fit and if you have to have a front plate it isn't a bad alternative.
