Merrry Christmas to all Corvette owners!

Thanks for the feedback!
The seals are leaking a silver-ish material so I'm guessing it's parts of the aluminum casing being ground down by the something inside.
Not a good sign. :(
I'm thinking about replacing it with another 80-82 unit that has been already newly rebuilt. Question is...
The car is leaving a drip or two of fluid in the driveway. Got the car up on a friends lift and noticed that the left and right shafts are leaking where they enter the diff housing. Bad seals I'm guessing in need of replacing. I topped off the fluid in the rear end and road tested the car. No...

Works great, just popped the stuck hood on my '82 in less than 5 minutes!

I feel for you. Go with your gut, it's your car/time/money. Me, I'm keeping the car stock and go for the tuning route. I plan to go roller rockers and '85 fuel pump first.
But believe me I've been tempted to pull the motor, store it aside and pop in a crate engine.
But the time and money keeps...
'82 AC issues just started this week.
When turning on the AC (blows and cools perfectly,) a new sound like marbles in a coffee starts. It's also intermitent as it fades to return later on.
Traced the sound to the compressor area. It also stops when switching to the heat/vent or off.
So...
Has anyone converted a 3:00 to a 9:00 position for your alternator? If so, please let me know how it turned out.
I'm having trouble finding a new alternator (mine is a 9:00,) in my '82. Finding a 9:00 that is rebuilt is no problem but I wanted a new one and all the shops I've called or...
Don't have a '84 but nearly 300,000 miles on my '82 cross fire. (yes the engine had been rebuilt but the cross fire was not touched.) I'm second owner and owned her since '86, not a problem with the cross fire and still get 20 mpg. I bought a spare cross fire manifold/injector setup on ebay...
I went through many variations of heat shields and starters but still would get heat soak in the summer months causing me to carry a screw driver to jump the solenoid to roll her over.
Finally tried a mini aluminum high-torque starter and not a problem since! Also has a cool high pitch whine...
The power antenna went out and in the process of moving the car to the work area, I looked down and saw the speedometer not functioning. Grrrrr...it was fine yesterday! lol
This morning was spent searching and reading the many forum posts concerning speedometer problems on this site.
Good...
It's been over 3 years since I started this post...and was suprised to see it still around with some activity. Thanks for all your
comments, it's been great and a pleasure to read them! :)
New chapter to add to the story:
Went to San Fran area for a weekend get-away last month. While...
Thanks for all the comments! Keep them coming! :)
Just to clear up anything, currently Miss Evette (that's her name) is running the stock crossfire and auto 4 speed setup for that year. If I take the performance route, I want to wake up that 350 under the hood a little!
Would run at least...
Everytime I take her out, I get at least one smile, thumbs up or a wave. Seems like more since the C6 came into the limelight.
I grew up thinking the C3's was a preview of a wilder shape of Vette's to come in the future (remember all the wild concept drawings in the car magazines of the...
I'm a second owner (since 1986) of my 82 seen below. The past 19 years I've keep her taken car of, bone stock/records and receipts kept, etc etc.
Good think is I now have a little money to throw her way...(5k-ish). But also at this time, the car just became smog exempt where I've moved to...
Coolness!
Sounds like a good project to play with a reason to get my butt off the computer for a weekend. :Steer
Many thanks and I'll let yall know how it turned out.
