I would be more concerned about the tires on the wheels being on the wrong side. The tires may be directional and if on the wrong side there may be issues with wear, traction, etc.
Some valid points made by others here but I haven't seen any reason above that would ever make me choose a C4 coupe over a C4 convertible unless it was a ZR1, GS or Callaway.
With the optional hardtop it's stiffer than a coupe and IMO much better looking than a coupe.
Last November I sold a very nice 1996 Collector Edition with 27,xxx miles for $13,500 with two tops and original GSC tires. That was a fair price at that time and all that I could get. Interestingly the only people who thought the price was too low were the other owners of Collector Editions or...
I haven't had this problem on my '89 but I have seen others with deck lids out of alignment and often wondered why they didn't adjust it correctly. After reading some of the comments above I guess adjusting could be a little tricky. When C4C5 specialist sees this post I'm sure he'll have the...
Just buy a used one on e-bay. I see them often for just a few dollars. You could also post in the for sale section on this site that you want one and there may be someone here that has one available.
I must confess that there will come a day when I may upgrade the C5Z to a C6Z. I didn't like the C5 "big butt" look when it first came out but I got over that so I guess I'll get over the exposed headlights and smiley face some time too. :cool
My 89 is definitely not a Z51 car. It is my understanding that Z51 was not an option for any convertible. I was just wondering how/why Zip products offers Z51 Bilsteins specifically for convertibles?
It is my understanding that the Z51 was not an option in convertibles however Zip products is selling Z51 shocks for convertibles? Not sure how that can be but why wouldn't the Z51 shocks fit on a convertible?
I've been thinking about shocks on my 89 convertible (no Z51) and still not sure about which way to go. I have the original stock Bilsteins on the car now and they are in good shape but since I lowered the car they seem too soft and sometimes the suspension bottoms out. I'm thinking I should...
Welcome to the CAC .... are you on the "other" Corvette forum? Name looks familiar. Anyhow, glad you found your way here. Sounds like you have the abilities to keep your vette going event if parts are not available.
I've been able to find everything I've needed for my 89 although some were...

Where did you get them and what date codes are on them? Someone told me they got new OE Goodyear supercars a month or two ago from the Tire Rack but the manufacture date was 10th week of 2004!
