Yes I have. The actual hook up of the lights and ballast is not that hard, the difficult part is getting the HID bulb in and locked in place w/o touching it. (this would be the same if you where replacing the OEM bulb) The other part that is not so easy is mounting the ballast so its not...
The only "easy" fix that I know of might be to put some arm rest covers on them. Vette Essentials makes some nice ones that actually cover up the area.
Not really a fix but its an option.
Dang Toms you must have a crap load of Mushtangs in your area! LOL I had this problem for about the first 6 months of getting my vett. After that they stopped bothering me because they knew I wasnt going to play.
Thanks Z06V. I can't comment on either car since I've never driving a Z06 nor been able to talk anyone into a ride in either car but your take on both cars is interesting.
Welcome to the :CAC
The discussions I been in on with a few very well qualified people have have resulted in the same conclusion. 450HP for the stock drive train is about it.
I painted mine a few years ago with a can of regular black spray paint and some testers model paint. Looks as good today as it did two years ago after I painted it.
I would start by pulling the codes from the computer write those down and see what issues the computer has seen. Make sure to clear them when you are done so if it happens again you can pull the codes and have a bette idea of what the glitch might be. Next I would check/clean all the grounds...
I've read quite a few stories about the shock pucks being left in I'm just glad your dealer noticed that fast and took care of it. Interestingly enough the shock I had to replace due to it leaking was the right rear.
Now that I'm thinking about it I did have to take the inner fender well out...
I'll see if I can help.
I have the selective ride control but I have replaced one of the rear shocks before due to leaking.
1. depending on which side you need your are looking at ~ $550 to $650 for the shock.
2. only GM (that I was able to find)
3. If you have worked on cars before and have...
Mine usually runs 212 - 230F in summer weather. It sounds like you have already checked the radiator for any trash that may be blocking it. Have you changed the coolant at all? Could also be a t-stat starting to go.
Just tossing out some ideas.
Stock C5 wheels are:
8.5 Front
9.5 rear
Z06 wheels are:
9.5 front
10.5 rear
I would guess you could get them on but I'm not sure if they would look right.
I didnt use paint thinner. I just let the paint dry then took a flat razor blade and gently scraped the paint off. The Corvette lettering is polished (sort of) so the paint doesnt stick very well to it anyway.
I took this advice from a handful of others that have painted their calipers and it...
Yup me and one (the other wants to ride in the trunk ;LOL) of my kids usually go on Saturday for the car show part. I don't do any official activities with it really, however the TN Zaino distributor is normally there so I can stock up w/o paying shipping.
There is another thread on it here.
