    Opti Replace--WOW!!

Dexcool IS the long life coolant. It is used in all GM Vehicles since 2000 I'm guessing. My suspicion is your intake gasket leaked because of some other reason. Coolant is only "harmful" when it is not changed over a long period of time.

How many miles? So, am I nuts?

I'm one of those Corvette owners that doesn't drive his Corvette daily even though I can as I live in SoCal. I'm not really trying to "save it" for someone else to enjoy. My original intention when I bought my 1991 in 2003 was to have a toy to drive and tinker with. I already had a daily...

    Question: Suspicions? Suspicions?

All that work and parts for $1600....I'd say that was reasonable. I know you're were joking though. :D

    Opti Replace--WOW!!

$100 per hour I would think.... Mid-America sells Opti's for $300. They also sell a brand new HEI distributor for $319.

    New exhaust l98, c-4 vert

I did NOT know that. Thanks for clarifying.

    New exhaust l98, c-4 vert

If you want some good sound at WOT but peace and quiet at idle and cruise and even when lugging the engine a bit, look no further than the Corsa system. They have absolutely no droning whatsoever. They are able to do this because only one exhaust tip per muffler works, just like the OEM...

    Opti Replace--WOW!!

Well, coolant is either yellow or almost neon green in color if it is the standard coolant, or reddish brown if it is GM Dexcool coolant. If you have it on your hand, it should be almost like water (ie. thin but slippery). Don't judge coolant when it is already on the ground. Check your coolant...

    Question: Suspicions? Suspicions?

I was just goint to say to look down there and see if the Opti looks new.

If the weatherstrip around the hatch is in good condition and seals properly, it won't leak.

    Ideas for replacing leather seats?

Buy the ready made ones with leather and cushions. YOu just need to install them on your seat buckets. Don't believe for a minute that vinyl is as good or close to being as good as leather. Vinyl is hot and sticky in the summer, cold in the winter. Leather also smells good and is much more...

    No other Generation

Can't we just agree that the C4 is beautiful and has great performance? :upthumbs One of the reasons I love the C4's is because it is all business. Performance first, comfort and convenience 2nd. The cramped interior, the tight engine bay, the low, low ride, the short wheelbase, it all...

    Fuel Gage Isn't Correct

I'm thinking it's your fuel tank sender unit that is malfunctioning. Did you actually check to see if you had no more fuel in the tank? I'm thinking if you actually had no fuel but the gauge was reading half full or something, you have a faulty sender. My daughter's Saturn L300 (Opel...

    4+3 trans

The overdrive was electronically controlled and it engaged in any of the 3 top gears depending on throttle and speed. That was the only "automatic" part to it. The actual shifting of the 4-speed was still manual and so was the clutch.

    How To Improve Your C4

Wanna know how to get 330 hp from an L98? How about just an additional 30 hp? Or maybe how to replace that aging window seal? C4 to C5 brake upgrade? Here is a nice reference point for things you've always wanted to know or do to your C4. 1984-1996 "C4" Technical Articles | Corvette...

    305/25/20 on a C4?

If you want bling, I think your selections grow a good bit. But if you want added traction/performance, look at what the track/autocross guys are using. I think most C4 guys who want more traction go with ZR-1 size rear wheels and tires using a 36mm offset (or 50mm, whichever works). I...

    Fighting the Fight...

I live in CA and having front and rear license plates are required. When I got my Corvette it had the front licens plate. The first thing I did was put the factory license plate cover and paint it to match the front of my 'Vette. See below..... Screw those tax collectors with cameras!

    305/25/20 on a C4?

I hope it comes out looking good. I personally would not put anything more than 17" on a C4. The later C4's already have 40 series tires and that's not a whole lot of sidewall. I think going with a 30 series tire would significantly reduce the rubber to wheel distance, making the already firm...

(Picture Thread) Show your C4 to the world!

Yeah it's rare but surprisingly enough there are TWO C4's like mine living in the same city I do! I see them every weekend: one is a coupe and the other a covertible. Go figure. I believe Chevy made under 2,000 of this color in 1991. I wish I had the 1991 ZR1. There are quite a few of...
