I had a problem like that on a motorcycle. One of the coils would fail when it got warmed up. Turned out to be a very thin crack in the coil, Cold start it was fine. Every time I tried something plugs, wires, etc. I thought I found the problem. Then it would heat up and misfire. Drove me crazy...
A test for crank windows? What would they do? Put sensors on the user's head and check brainwaves? Engines and body configuration I can understand. I doubt the gov regulations require a complete car test to cover every little device. That's sounds like an excuse for the carmakers to bump the...
I wish we could still order a Vette without all the wiz-bang gadgits. I'd like hand-crank windows, no auto-climate, power door locks, anti-lock brakes, traction control, etc.
You have RPO - FFS Revised Fuel Tank System (2003/2004) like the system used in the C6. Card failure is very common. (actually common failure sounds too harsh it is really not a big number of failures but Corvettes are a limited production car so the percentage of failures just seems high)...
Nicknames for Corvettes
C3 Shark or Coke Bottle or just plain Sexy
C4 Plastic Firebird or Creak & Moan (Snap, Crackle and Pop was already taken)
C5 Big Ass Ham or Burtha Butt-mobile or J-Lo GT
C6 Imported Ham or Oops! We forgot the front plate mount or C5's Ugly Cousin
:D
Look under the nose there is a small skide plate (actually a small frame with rails). I saw a few C5s that had damaged skids plate assemblies. Also bring a mirror with you to look under the car especially where the side body meets the frame. If you don't jack the car up correctly you can crack...
The Queen song goes too far. You can still love your car AND have a real relationship. All Jon needs is a woman as hot as his car.
Highway Star -- Deep Purple
Nobody gonna take my car
I’m gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
It’s gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh it’s a...
I like the symmetry thing too. It gives me an idea. How about pop-up tail lights? Hmmmm? How about a "rear" rearview mirror? Then you can look back and see ahead? Maybe 6 reverse speeds instead of only one.
I'm just kiddin' :D
PS: OCD?
1977 is a great year. Last year of flat rear window, first year of upgraded interior (fits many more aftermarket radios), Yes, only 180 HP but lots of torque. The manual transmission version did 0-60 in under 7 seconds. One cool things about the L-48 (180hp) was that in didn't have a pollution...
I haven't heard of any crashes due to the column lock problem but many people have had their car not start and had to be towed to the dealer. I have a 6 Speed manual so all they did was reprogram it.
You could put in a column lock bypass kit in your C5 by yourself...
Simple explaination:
When you hit the brakes the wieght of the vehicle shifts forward and the front brakes need to be bigger and better to handle the exrta load. The rear of the vehicle becomes unloaded (lighter). You'd be wasting your money matching the rears to the front. Most brake upgrades...
Works great for small chips but you have to follow the directions exactly. It takes a very light touch. The best cloth to use is an old lint free 100% cotton white dress shirt.
It is also sold by Mother's wax at local auto parts stores.
