The car only has 12000 miles, do you think the ignition cylinder could be worn with this little use? ;shrug Andy

    Good service manual ?

Can anyone suggest a good service manual for my 2000? I have the assembly manual for my 75 and would like to have a good reference book for my 2000.

    TPMS problem

I was told if you remove the sensors that a technician could use something to reprogram the computer and deactivate the tpms. The battery life on our y2k sensors is reported to be 10 years. We are getting close to the end of battery life and at $150 each I do not plan on replacing mine when...

    What to do about Insurance?

I checked with Grundy but was a little put off by the restrictions. They said that my wife could not take it to work if she wanted to drive home after work with the top down. The price was great but I am concerned that they would use something like this to get out of paying a claim.

Solution to deck lid only popping open 1/4" !

Great product! I put mine on today and it was an easy install. Took about 5 min. and that included getting tools together. Had a little trouble getting paypal to work but it was worked out. The trunk now pops open like it should have when Chevrolet designed it. :beer

Strange thing happened today on my 2000

I was at a local auto glass company today having a rock chip in the windshield of my 2000 repaired. As I was leaving, I started the car and began to back out of the service bay. The vehicle moved a little and the engine died. I put it back in park and restarted the engine. Put the car in...

    Feeling guilty

My wife and I just got back from a weekend in Orange Beach, AL at "Fun in The Sun" Corvette show. What a great event! Going to be even better next year because the location where it is being held, "The Warf" will be finished construction and fully occupied. I strongly recommend that you try...

    Door rattle

I know that I will find the answer here so can anybody explain the deal with the driver doors on corvettes? I have a 75 that sounds just like the "new" 2000 when you close the drivers door. The passenger door sounds solid on both vettes but the drivers door sounds like something is loose...

    FINALLY

Great looking car and you get to live in the mountains too? Life doesn't get much better than that! I would have gotten that same color if I could have talked my wife into it. Since this one was suppose to be for her I now own the lt. pewter which would be my second choice.

Welcome Congratulations on your "new to you" vette. I know how exciting it can be. My wife and I just went through the same thing you did and decided on one we found on cars.com in Dallas, TX. A 2000 convertible w/12k miles. Enjoy!

    Show Off Those Silver C5's

No, we are loading our stuff in the trunk after we bought it in Texas. We rented a car in Baton Rouge and drove to Texas to close the deal then drove our new baby home. I don't think the insurance will cover grocery shopping.

Does anyone have any experience/input on these wheels/tires ?

I read here in the Tech Center, a GM mechanic notice that if the replacement tires had too much or some type of metal fibers/bands in them they could block the radio signal from the tire sensors back to the computer reciever in the dash. That has something to do with the GS rating on the...

    What to do about Insurance?

After purchasing the 2000 this past weekend, I now have to make a decision on the insurance. I have collector insurance on my 75 and that is no problem because it is used very little. I could add my new one onto my family car insurance for about $1400 year. Grundy will cover it for $420 a...

    Crank pully wobble

The lower crank pully has a slight wobble and I was told by my Chevy Dealer that the pully needed to be replaced and would cost between 5 and 6 hundred. They said that the Corvette must have sat for a long time without being started and the tension on the belts caused a flat spot on the rubber...

Does anyone have any experience/input on these wheels/tires ?

tpm question I still don't understand how you can change all these tires and not have a problem with the tire sensors. I am new to C5 but was told that the 2000 Vette was one that the sensors could not be turned off and GM says that if you go with anything but original style Goodyear Eagle F1...

What to use for eng. detail

What should I use to detail under the hood on all of the black plastic parts? I thought about just using Armor All but decided that I better check before I start wiping everything down and cause some damage.
