You might check with a local upholstry shop. I have seen the holes with a metal ring around them kind of like a washer to prevent the tearing. Not sure how they are installed but sounds like a good solution to your problem. Andy

I am with the the others, it sounds like you need to tighten the belt. Since it is so long, a little extra tension might be necessary. If mine is not tight enough it will do the same thing you described. Andy
