Before you buy the Snap-On wrench, check with Mac tools. I have the set from 3/8" thru 2" and they were a lot cheaper than Snap-On and just as good quality. My whole set was less than $1000.00.

Once you have the tach out it's not much of a job at all. If I remember correcly, after the board is installed you have to hook it up to 12 volts and then put the needle on at zero. I might be wrong, but I remember something like that.

As 760kievette said it's straightforward. Just be careful pulling your dash apart, it's old like me and breaks easily. I changed my tach circuit board and converted my clock to quartz and both work great. :beerArt

TMPJoe is right. I replaced all my suspension bushings, added a 7/8" rear sway bar, new springs, I rebuilt the trailing arms and put in Bilstiens and all new U-joints, rotors and rebuilt O-ring calipers w/braided SS hoses, master cyl and booster. The money adds up before you know what's happening!

I know what you mean about can't hear it after starting the car. With my 383 running through 3" chambereds I can't hear much of anything till I hit cruising speed.

I put 4x6's in my kick panels to augment the two in the dash. I also have two 8" mids and s 12" sub in the back with 1200 watts of amps and an adjustable crossover in the jack storage compartment. The amps are digital so there's no heat problem. Signal is from a USA-6 with an I-POD.
