Although the public image of Bob Lutz is that of a “car guy”, he was part of the problem, not part of the solution. He had senior management positions at all three US car companies during their unparalleled demise. What did he do to stem the tide? He is another Iacocca sales/marketing...
Anxious to attract the sort of high-performance buyers increasingly drawn to European sports cars from the likes of Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Really?
C5s have quite a bit of adjustment to the suspension travel.
If it seems unlikely the owner adjusted it and it happened over time, its possible the front transverse leaf spring is is just sagged out and needs to be replaced. Its a few hundred bucks and not a bad do it your self job.
You can...

Apples Vs Oranges isnt even close.
The 87 was a purpose built technological tour de force that showed the world what GM can still do and a glimpse of things to come. Turbo Regals with less work then it takes to install a Vararam on a C5 were running in the 12s on a cool day and still getting...
Its ironic, Torch Red is maybe the 3rd favorite color for me. But as I will never buy a new Corvette, Torch Red, usually being the most produced color is also the easiest color to find in absolutely mint condition and the best for resale.
Why is it the most popular? My guess is because most...
My apologies to the OP for going off on another t-stat tangent.
As stated dozens of times, putting in a 160 t-stat doesn’t mean your car is running at a coolant temp of 160 degrees. It depends on many factors. I don't drive my Corvette in the cold season. With a properly maintained cooling...
You will be wasting your money if you get a tune with just a cold air intake and a cat back. A 160 t-stat will NOT harm your engine, but by itself its of little use.
You can call any shop that actually does tunes and ask them about the thermostat issue and the real world results of their tunes...
I can guess -
I had the Firestone SCV50s - I was told by a Firestone store manager that anytime a tire is patched or plugged it compromises the speed ratings and the high performance tires should be replaced not repaired if the car will come close to their limits. Another possible liability...
Those codes you listed with the H are all historical codes and no longer apply. The 2 current codes are from seat Up and down switch shorted to ground.
I have an 04 LS6 car in my garage now, just checked and there is no ground straps on the front near the area in your picture. I also looked in...
Just remove the air box and throttle body first. There is a connection at the rear of the manifold under the cowl to unplug.
You still have to remove the valley pan after that to get to the lifters.
You actually need 16 "pen magnets" that get inserted into the push rod holes in the head that will hold the lifter up and away from the cam and the mains. There is a process to rotate the crank to get each lifter at the top of the cam lobe and then get it high enough into the lifter tray to...
A local yard out by me used to list new arrivals. The frequently had Corvettes. Most of the cars were clean but needed a trans or a motor. Something that would have been a large percentage of the cars value to have repaired.
You would have to tell them what you need and the crew would remove...
