What happens when its 95 degrees out and you want to turn on the AC?
Or when its 5 degrees and you want heat?
Unproven technology - more expensive then the existing competition with lower levels of performance. Sounds like prime material for car of the year to me.
Just to be clear, the $900 was for more than the "X" pipe. It was for an entire "cat back" system for my C4. I called the manufacturer on the tech line number provided with the documentation, left a message or 2 on their voice mail, and emailed them. No response. But to give credit where...
Thats actually all it is. Its just an open hallow "X" shaped chamber in the center.
Here is what the Corsa X pipe (more like an "H" pipe) looks like and why i will never buy another Corsa product.
There are lots of different theories about X pipes and smoothing out exhaust flow..When I had C4s, I found that the x pipe made NO difference at all by itself. It was the total system and the type of mufflers that contributed to interior resonance. Having an automatic or a manual was also a...
The vac guage connects to a port on the intake manifold. Most likely you need to use a "T" connector to plug the guage into an existing port. See if there is hose from the dist. to the manifold.
You may want to remove the dist cap, and bump the starter until the rotor is pointing to the...
I wonder if the dist was removed and replaced incorrectly. When you check the timing do you have to disconnet anything such as a plug that goes to the dist?
Try connecting the vac guage and turn the dist until you get the most vaccume.
(Thats a process from "back in the day")
Do you have a vacuum gauge? and a timing light? I would also recommend infrared laser thermometer (to check the temps of the exhaust manifolds near each piston).
I listened to the video, it didnt sound so bad.
I think you find it enough of a challenge to get this car running good in its...
Fluke 77 Multimeter - eBay (item 180590694491 end time Nov-28-10 13:21:01 PST)
Thats a link to the model that I have. It worked great for over 20 years.
There are 100 of different ones around, Radio Shack has a dozens.
I do lots of electrical work, both on Corvettes and in my home. Its a great...
How long does it run before dying out? Does it restart right away after it dies out? What do you mean by "spraying gas?" Does die out if you leave it to idle or are you trying to give it more gas and it stalls no matter what you do?
A vac hose off could cause a bad idle, but if it starts in...
Depends on what you are looking for. For racing and actually improving your "times" or "ET" the Vararam is the one to get. Expensive and a bit difficult to install, cheaply made - but undeniable results.
All the rest are pretty much the same. The Blackwing is simple and easy to install. The...
Looks like it just needs a lot of TLC. That's a nice garage you have there to work in. Its great that your dad also is into cars. Whats with that Nova? What motor is in that?
CHIPS.....
Some cars seem to get a tad bit more out of chips, like the Turbo Buicks back in 87.
Depending on your car, you may pick up 5 to 8 hp, and depending on the chip. There were many at one time. Usually the more aggressive ones needed good premium (94) to do their best.
Newer fuel injected cars need the computer. The ECM can measure many parameters at once and sort of "coordinate" the systems. For example it will by use of various sensors measure the density of air flowing into the engine, along with the temperature of the air and the speed at witch it goes...
When you say it spends its life in "A garage" - does that mean your renting a garage? Or is it your garage?
If its your garage, just leave it be...not hurting anyone....
